Sorry, NOOB Question about insuring bike.

You're right, my bad. Just needed a plate/sticker so technically the bike didn't have to be there, it just was.

Petition - Allow single-rider motorcycles in Ontario's HOV lanes

As much as I'd love this to happen, it won't. Can you imagine the squids if it went through? They'd ruin it for everyone. People already think the HOV lane is the super fast lane where 20 over is too slow. And that petition is almost 3 years old with merely ~800 signatures.

Sorry, NOOB Question about insuring bike.

This is true, and probably the best option. Agree with the seller to get it certified, then register the bike as FIT - UNPLATED. I bought a bike last fall and registered it UNFIT UNPLATED. So this spring, I had to trailer it to a shop, then trailer it to the ministry.

Temp HOV + two wheels. Can someone confirm this?

I rode the DVP north and south this afternoon. Traffic crawled and I whizzed by. I saw a lot of cops catching cheaters, and a lot of cheaters sneaking back into the middle lane when they saw cops. I stuck mostly to the left tire track because I was moving at a decent speed past traffic I didn't...

    Parking at Yonge and Bloor?

How quickly does this fill up? I see there's only 12 spaces... I'll likely be there early tomorrow morning and hope to get a spot. Edit: this one doesn't have dedicated lines like some others, but instead only start and end points on sign poles. I got it started early this morning, but because...

Shipping Bike over 3000 KM - Ideas?

I think you missed the part about it being one way. I just got a random quote from uhaul in June from Saskatoon to Toronto and it was $320 (you get 7 days). Drop off the trailer in Toronto, no need to take it back. I imagine that's still considerably cheaper than having it shipped.

Has anyone tried NanoTips for their gloves?

Seems to work well for me on lightweight leather gloves. It's good for swipes and firm presses, but I wouldn't dare type.

Has anyone tried NanoTips for their gloves?

I just picked up a bottle at Town Moto - $24 plus tax. Currently waiting for my glove to air dry. I'm hoping it works well on the Apple Watch.

Rosedale Valley Road - High Risk?

It was. http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2015/05/09/man-seriously-injured-after-motorcycle-crash.html It's not even that curvy.. just slow down.

    Things I should know ...

Age, bike and location make all the difference. If you're under 25, even a 125 will be expensive to insure. That's just the way it is. If you're over 25, things get more affordable, especially if you've been driving for 5+ years and can go with State Farm.

    Commuting downtown

Bayview is alright at rush hour at the bottom end of the city. But it jams up starting around Davisville, opens after after Eglinton then slows down again after Lawrence on and off all the way to the 401.

Statefarm buyout policy renewals from Desjardins or Certa's ?

I was quoted long before the takeover and got the same rate now that I'm insured with them under Certas.

When are you taking your bikes out?

Saw lots of bikes out today, though I didn't get out myself. Good rain Thursday and a 10°+ Friday sounds good to me.

    LC M2 Exit

I'll probably do my M2exit with them in a few years as well. Really enjoyed the course to obtain my M2 as somebody who didn't have any previous experience.

When are you taking your bikes out?

Did 75km today! 7° and sun was tolerable with the right gear. Got super windy in the late afternoon and I called it a day.

When are you taking your bikes out?

I finally got out today. Booting around the city in long johns was tolerable for 15 minutes at a time. It was -8° where I was so it got a little cold on the hands. The one 80kmh zone I briefly travelled through got cold fast. Sunday looks to be 5° and sunny so I hope to be out for much longer.

Re: 23 Years Old, GM2, Clean/No Record, GSXR-600 - What are my options for Insurance? That seems pretty impressive. Liability only I assume?

Parking Car+Bike in one Spot allowed?

Take a quick cruise around your entire lot; If others are doing it, you shouldn't have a problem. It's not allowed in my building, but I have my bike parked behind my car (as does the guy beside me, and his is in pieces). I think it's more of a gamble parking in a small spaces you don't...

Insurance for a 19 year old

I just signed up with state farm. Not sure how long ago your friend got insured, but I don't believe they'll insure you today if you haven't been driving 5 years. They base your motorcycle insurance off your driving record, so M1/M2 and maybe even M don't make a difference. Hate to rain on...

Insurance for a 19 year old

It's going to be expensive, no way around it. There's a few places where you can get an online quote, like TD (best if your alumni etc) or rider's plus; but your best bet is to make phone calls. A lot of younger riders who have had their driver's license for at least 5 years go with State Farm...
