Both riders and driver contributed to the whole incident. Riders blocking lanes caused driver to go berserk. If only the riders took one lane or move over, this should never happen. The driver also over reacted and decided to go off road thinking he drives a 4X4.

I suggest wait out until you finish the course to see if you like riding or not. The course is a good eye opener and you can practice it on a entry level bike without the fear of dropping it, grinding gears, stalling, etc.

fyi, I took the Centennial College training course 2 years ago, it was pretty good.
I got the same issue when I tried to remove my 09' zx6r oil filter, I bought multiple oil filter cap at canadian tire and none of them fit (all the caps are too big) and the one from dealer costs like $45!!

I don't mind getting pass or letting people change into my lane as long as they "SIGNAL". Too many ******* will just cut in front of you aggressively like two feets in front of your bumper!
On my bike, I feel people want to pass me even more for some strange reason, maybe it feels good to pass...
Have you look into the used 250cc bikes (Honda or Kawi)? If you're only going to use it for one or two seasons, I would not buy new. Also, check insurance first.......
