the most cost effective way, and also the way i got into it, is go to a track day with somebody with a supermoto, split track time, and try it, although i suspect after one day the problem will become can you get your own bike before the next track day so you dont seem like a mooch when you ask...

Id like to revisit this post once the bike in question has say 50 or 100 hours on it, and see if its still a complete bike, or even able to be put back into something that resembles a complete bike. But hey i guess if the parts are only in vancouver then its ok, My honda parts dealer is 4 kms...
