I know it's splitting hairs but I think the right of way was parallel to Lorne and slightly to the east of Lorne, maybe around 10 or 20 feet. before it veered to the east to the wharf. I knew there was an ice house but not where it was located.
I'm pretty sure Grand Trunk took over the...
Based on Google Maps It looks like the street there isn't Lorne St as that goes right by it up to Malone. I don't see a name on the turnoff that goes to the boat launch (where I took my photo.)

If you are saying I was where the streetview photo was in my picture I posted earlier, you are mistaken. My picture was taken at Jackson's Point Harbour . The Streetview was by the Malone Rd. Viewing point. Next time I'm up there I'll take a picture from the viewing point on Malone Rd.

Was looking at my records. By March 3 2024 I had ridden over 3,200 km year to date. This year a bit over 110 km.
What a different winter it's been!

Glad I got some riding yesterday! This morning there was about a foot of wet fluffy snow on my car and roads from Port Perry down to 401 were very icy and snow covered. I only saw two cars in the ditch though.

Got out for a little ride this afternoon. Dug it out of the snow, took the cover off, removed the battery maintainer and topped up the air pressure. It started the moment I touched the starter button ride was barely around the block with about 110 km. Still was nice to get out for a bit!

I'm sure you will love it there! Lots of Nice scenery and wonderful people! One thing that was different was that there are lots of (Huge!) potholes. They get fluorescent paint and highlight the potholes as there aren't enought people around to fix them.

I went there back in 2018. Unfortunately my wife crashed her bike crossing a gravel bank, broke her foot and wrote off the bike. Total strangers took her to a medical facility, other strangers took her bike to a gas station/garage. People in Newfoundland/Labrador are wonderful!

I got home from Calgary this morning around 4:30am (FLight was delayed) and didn't get to sleep until 5:30am. I intended to get up and ride in the morning but slept in late I managed to get out for a little ride this aft, barely around the block because radar was showing snow streamers around...
When I changed bikes it wasn't because the bike was worn out but because there were upgrades that appealed to me. The 2012 DL650 added ABS and I liked the dash info better than my 2006. The 2015 DL1000 added Traction control, the 2020 DL 1050 added cornering abs and to me ,very important, Cruise...
Not really planning to get a new bike yet. It only has 250,000 km on it. :) There is first generation V-Strom DL1000 that has over 437,000 **miles** on it so should be some life left in mine. :)

in 2024 I rode a total of 53,860 km (so far) at least 38,696 km was not commuting. About 15,164 km was commuting, probably a bit less. (I based these numbers on the dates I filled my tank so there is probably some error but its close.)

I don't have much for spare time. When there isn't risk of ice and snow I commute to work on my bike, on my day's off (Sunday and Wed's) I almost always for for a little ride (I call it "round the block" and it usually is around 300 km sometimes more.) I did a few rides this year but nothing...
