Spring Motorcycle SuperShow - March 29-30

Late reply, but better late than never. I won the tickets from GTAM, and made sure I introduced myself to @cutekill . I've been wanting to talk to the GTAM people for the last several shows but was never able to, so glad to be able to thank her for the great community that has been created...

    Two 12V questions

Yeah, that's what I was referring to... all the heated gear I've seen that doesn't connect to an external controller seems to have pretty much the same push-button that operates the same way...

Spring Motorcycle SuperShow - March 29-30

Thanks! Disappointed GP wont be there but I figured as much since there was no mention on their own website.

Spring Motorcycle SuperShow - March 29-30

They really need to work on their website. I still can't find an exhibitor's list, and when I click on "Directions" it shows a map of somewhere in South Dakota. I attended the shows in January and February. How does this one usually compare?

Spring Motorcycle SuperShow - March 29-30

Thanks @cutekill ! Since @mimico_polak bowed out - are those tickets back in the sweepstakes?

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

"My mom bought it brand new but had two young kids so never rode it. " Yet it has 610km on it and scratches on the front... maybe that's a metaphorical "never rode it"?

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

The low height is an integral part of the design though - both in terms of accessibility, and in terms of the aesthetics. The latter helps give the bike that long, streamlined look. If I recall correctly, the stated seat height is not much different than, say, a Street Glide or Road King.

I personally think it's beautiful. It looks way better in person - that picture doesn't do it justice.

Spring Motorcycle SuperShow - March 29-30

Is there an exhibitor list? I sure couldn't find one on their website. I'm in the market for a jacket. I've spent way too much time buying and researching jackets. At the Enercare show I really wanted to shop for one there but I didn't want to my kids through that. But - is there usually 3...

    Two 12V questions

Thanks for that. @GreyGhost pointed out something I didn't clue into - that gear with a switch built into the gear - like this set has - would likely make it impossible to check continuity. Gear that requires an outboard controller wouldn't pose the same problem. For me, that realization is a...

    Two 12V questions

    1) That's what I thought - 12V is 12V. Fuse looked good. 2) That makes sense. 3) Each piece has a controller just like the one you're describing. The switch needs to be depressed for several seconds to turn on. So it sounds like I wouldn't be able to test continuity for the gear. But I...

    Two 12V questions

That's what I figured... but I'm pretty bad with electrical stuff, and he was pretty confident he knew what the issue was, so I deferred to him. If I meet up with him again I will bring a multimeter.

    Two 12V questions

Thanks ! .. two problems. 1) I can't find the cigarette lighter adapter bit for my Noco, and 2) the seller doesn't have the cigarette lighter to coax bit. If I could find 1), I know you can buy a thing that goes from cigarette lighter plug to posts for ring terminals.... or I could buy the...

    Two 12V questions

    1) I was checking out some 12V heated gear that has a a fused pigtail with ring terminals (only). We tried to test it by connecting the terminals to my car battery. The gear didn't turn on. Seller thought the problem was using a car battery and not a bike battery; I assumed 12V is 12V...

    Ducati service within Toronto?

I just noticed - he's pretty much right around the corner from my house. Too bad my bike is up north and I hate riding into the city, or I'd consider giving him a try.

    Ducati service within Toronto?

@Relax and @Fuzzbuster PM me and I'll give you Giovanni's contact info. Sorry for the late reply but I wanted to check with him it was OK for me to share. For what it's worth, I have no association with him other than I know he came highly recommended on a Ducati forum, and that I spoke and...

There's Just One Thing Moto Manufacturers Should Do To Get More Riders on Bikes

I have no argument with either paragraph. I went into my own Multistrada purchase with eyes wide open. The flip side of your coin is, if you don't like (say) the bike with ADV styling and 19" wheels and lower travel suspension, realize that you may not be the target demographic. And that...

There's Just One Thing Moto Manufacturers Should Do To Get More Riders on Bikes

I have no issue with people preferring certain aesthetics. I do have an issue with the argument that every ADV-styled bike needs to have full-on off-road bonafides. To me it's like arguing that every cruiser-styled bike needs to be a V-twin, that every 911 needs to have a manual transmission...

There's Just One Thing Moto Manufacturers Should Do To Get More Riders on Bikes

Not sure how I feel about the whole idea. I think there’s a danger that any sense of community could be lessened or feel artificial. I’m short and bought a Multistrada. The seat height felt insane. I’m not too proud to admit I’ve dropped it a few times - always at a stop. That being said...
