Things are changing in Toronto fish and chips and not for the better.
Harbord fish and chips used to take pride in the fact they shook the chips 21 times after pulling them out of the oil.
I was there a week ago, new ownership and only shaken five times.
As is generally the case with BMW, only BMW oil is recommended.
Spectrpo4 dino oil was actually labelled and sold as BMW oil before BMW started bringing their own oil to the North American market.
A litre of Spectro4 is about two-thirds the price of a litre of BMW oil at the dealer.
Just a quick comment.
The first thing I would do with that lift is remove the wheels if it was going to occupy the same space in the garage all the time.
I would hate to have the lift and the bike start rolling away on me.
Outriggers are also a splendid idea.
I saw a couple of motorcycle cops parked near a funeral home one time. They were on escort duty and waiting for the service to end.
I asked them what they used for weight in the sidecar.
One of them pulled back the cover. There were 2 sand bags in it.
You did the right thing by writing down the part number of the existing bulb.
When you didn't find the exact same bulb at CT, you should have asked the service guy to look in the catalogue.
I have yet to meet a bulb that didn't have a compatible replacement made by a different maker.
Or often...
I ran into a couple like that once. We shared a week in a condo in Florida.
They cheaped their way out of everything on the grounds that they were a couple and only paid one share for everything.
They were very upset when I grabbed the master bedroom in the condo and gave them the smaller one...
In the wonderful world of vehicle insurance there is only one rule.
ASSUME NOTHING.
If you aren't sure if you're covered, phone your agent and ask.
Many times you can add the other drivers to your policy for the length of time the trip will take.
Two years ago I needed a new helmet and tried to find one with the inner shades.
The problem is, I'm a big guy with a big guys head.
I found several that fit my head, but the shades wouldn't lower far enough to be practical.
It strikes me that if you were going from home to the track every weekend, it would make sense.
If I were to buy one I would use it two or three times per season and renting it out the rest of the time.
I have been entertaining my brother for years about my touring travels.
Now that he's nearing retirement he's thinking about getting his M1 and perhaps joining me on the road.
I got my M back in the late 60's on a Honda 50 (the one that looked like a Vespa).
But my knowledge of the smaller bike...
Beware of I-75. It is also known as I-construction as there are parts of it always being repaired widened etc.
The odd thing is, although lanes are closed and diverted, I have never seen anyone actually working on it.
I prefer to cross at Buffalo and to take US 219 south. Nice winding road as...
I had a similar problem with a neighbour who liked to play loud music until 2 or 3 AM.
It wasn't too bad in the winter, but in the summer with the windows open it was very annoying.
I asked him politely if he could lower the volume and was told to go f&&& myself.
I started getting up at 6 AM...
I have owned motorcycles where I thought the horn was not loud enough and others where I thought it was too loud.
Personally I prefer too loud, what with the blinkers most Toronto cage drivers like to wear.
Before I retired I was lucky in that I could walk to work. No parking problems.
However, walking from College to Bloor I would often see people trying to park on the streets in spaces that were too small for their cars.
They rarely hit other cars, but often hit motorcycles. Knocking them over...
I think it would be best if we all made the assumption that a Royal Enfield is bare bones basic transportation for around town.
IMO not even remotely suitable for the highway or touring.
