Agreed.
Like I said/implied the only clue this young man has came in a box marked "Parker Brothers".
He bailed on becoming a mechanic when all he could find was piece work at CDN Tire so his license has expired (thankfully).
Just to demonstrate his complete lack of mechanical aptitude he...
"bike with a horn, headlight, turn signals, front and rear brake switch lights, mirrors"
Except that's not describing the majority of blue-plated off road bikes. The Euro street legal enduros plus the CRF450l but that's it. Obviously the mild mannered dual sports fill a different role. I...
Dropped my new-to-me 1982 BMW R100RS off at Airheads in Kitchener for a complete going over and refresh where necessary.
George commented that the new safety regime has NO CHANGES TO SPECIFICATIONS but requires photos of components. Which means removing a wheel for drum brakes as mentioned...
I believe you and I are the only ones who thought it was a pretty bike. I really loved the color.
But other than that, as your remarks illustrate it's didn't have much else going for it.
I like the idea of the wired heat thing, combined with the bolt grabber socket, but I think I'd look for better quality that CTC or Princess Auto. I've busted off a couple CTC bolt removers so I won't trust them again.
I wonder if the tech used thread-lock on it? Just to compound the stupidity...
And that's a bad thing? Triumph has developed a good reputation for reliability and value. The little 400 looks like a good bike and mechanically on par with the Japanese makers, or at least close. I don't think you can say the same for RE.
"Painfully ugly" barely describes the new GS. Hideous would be closer.
It's like they took one look at HD's Pan American and said, "You think that's ugly; watch this!"
Toys are built to be played with, so I'm not a fan of the "still in the package" collectibles market.
As for the 9 cfr's line, there's no comparison between the 2 bikes. I'm sure virtually every rider would be faster in any circumstance on a crf450 than on the 500, but the grin followed by the...
It looks like the container opens to a slope, which is just plain lawn, or natural surface. No wonder you find the ramp slippery.
What I would do:
Level the container. Giant PITA but I wouldn't be able to help myself. Gravel and used railway ties at front and back ideally, otherwise gravel and...
What about setting a railway tie or comparable into a trough with 8-12" of packed limestone and nailing some 2X6 or what ever to it at the floor level? Add a couple rebar pins to the rwy. tie and it's not going anywhere.
It's subjective.
I saw a 25 year old DRZ400 in great shape @ $3000 ready to certify. It would seem to me to be a good deal as there isn't any difference between that on and a more recent one for twice the price. It would probably be better suited for my off road riding/dual sporting than my...
I cleaned the fuel injector in my Husqvarna 250.
I had bought an Enduro Engineering kit to do so, but despite saying it was for my model year it didn't fit. But all it took was a couple small bull clips with light wire connected to it and a 9Volt battery and it activated the injector so I could...
Easier said than done. I offered one guy full ask, if he'd get the safety. Nope.
All the bikes I'm looking at are road legal from the factory, KTM500EXC-F, Husqvarna FE501S, KTM 690 Enduro, Husky 701 Enduro and Honda CRF450L.
When I list mine for sale later in the month I intend to offer it...
Yeah, I wonder about exhaust issues too. I've been looking for a different dual sport and if it doesn't at least come with the original silencer I'm looking elsewhere.
Bike has disks at both ends, so not concerned. I have ordered new tires but they haven't arrived. Current ones are 10 years old but tread is fine for certification, so I'm curious about the date issue as well.
My Norton has rear drum brakes and the wheel removal/installation isn't that strait...
How much FARTHER could it possibly fall??????
I mean zero is still zero, and dropping below nothing is still impossible isn't it?
The stock certificates are LITERALLY not worth the paper they're printed on, yet the company is still operating?
