No. But I fully expected to have to shell out larger expenses during the first month or so of ownership.. It was my first oil change since buying and I have no idea if the previous owner ever changed the oil once (although he claimed every 5000km)
Not to mention, the 'cheap' oil was only $8 at...
I've been reading ALOT on Ninjette ( a ninja 250 forum - but I'm sure it'd be similar for your 500) and the general consensus seemed to be K&N 401 filter (or Wix) and Shell Rotella T6 Full synthetic 5w40 oil. They swear by the Rotella T6. You can get the filter at Napa if you have one nearby...
I think a Ducati makes the wallet lighter after draining out all the cash.
It just so happens I'm a Web/App Developer... and this would be a sweet app!..
Yeah I agree. I got the 250 as a learner with the intention of 1. Not killing myself 2. Selling it next year to upgrade to a Ninja 650.
However, depending on how often I'm able to pleasure ride out on the twisties I may keep the 250, most people are telling me it's more fun on the twisties...
Apparently the chain saver is the 'same' formula as the old dry wax... However, general consensus from my research is that it is more watery but still dries to a wax film.
Thanks. Good to know. I can't be too picky anyway because I need to do it this weekend.
Good to know, there is a Royal 10 minutes down the 400 from me.
So at that rate in 2014 you'll be riding a 750, 2015 - 1000, 2016 - 1200 etc.. :)
I just got mine in June, my first bike! Haven't been able...
Interesting. I didn't see it at my lowes. I'll check again. That is an American link you sent though. Also, check the label on your bottle - the one you posted is just the 'lubricant' not the 'dry, wax lubricant' they are completely different formulas and DuPont actually recommends against using...
Various posts/forums have suggested Dupont Teflon Multi Use Lube is hands down the best chain lube (at least for my Ninja 250) with low fling off, low debris collection and long lasting... I can't find it anywhere in Canada and no sites seem to want to ship to Canada.
Anyone know where I can...
No security here. It's actually a condo subdivision of townhouses with unassumed streets. So I'm practicing on some nice twisties, too bad they're riddled with speed bumps.
Was hoping to just switch orders with Pete but it's looking like I may have to go Zdenos at $70 higher than Pete plus rude customer service + not calling me back yesterday. Although fortunately this morning he said they're really busy but he is holding them until he can get back to me with the...
That's not so bad. At least it is a justifiable/good reason to not be allowed to park/get a ticket.
I'm from out of town, I was in Toronto. I parked on the side of Queen St at 3:20pm, put my VISA in the machine and bought 1 hour of parking, printed me a ticket until 4:20pm (big bold letters...
