"The recommended service interval for final drive splines on the K-bikes is every other tire change, or about 10K kilometers." 5k to a tire? I would get 10K on my sporting bikes and my E3 went almost 20.
I don't see the grease being flung off due to rotation since the splined shaft fits into a...
I'm hoping for something that would be worthy of the DRZ400. I can do gravel roads all day long on my street bike (but I'd rather not).
A blue plate affair for sure though....
I wanted to know just how much moly was in this stuff so I called the manf. PolySi Technologies Sanford NC. I talked to one of the techs who explained it has more than 60% moly in a silicone based carrier.
He thought the heat may burn off the silcone, which I thought should leave the moly...
I know there are a number of us out this way interested in putting together a ride but is there anyone here who knows enough unimproved roads, power line allowances, farmers lanes, twisty gravel roads etc that they can stitch together to lead us on a ride?
I'm in St Marys but I'd gladly ride...
Seriously? I insure two bikes for about 800$ a year (combined - not each).
This has been an interesting read, I'll pop back in a few days to see how it ends
Thanks All,
Just picked up a tube of honda moly77 grease that London Honda ordered in for me. 75grams 19$ + tax. Thanks for the part number Jayv.
Also got a new Dunlop Elite 3 spun on this morning so there is no excuse not to get this thing back together, barring a big dump of snow and the...
You gotta shop around for insurance. I have 4 policies with 4 different companies. House, condo, car/bikes & sled. Everybody says "give me everything and I'll get you a better price" but so far no company has been able to match the price I get by splitting it up. Part of the problem is lots of...
A place that only does tires. I take in just the wheels, pay cash, and don't get a receipt. Cost including the R&R is usually what most bikes shops want for just the tire and taxes.
The guy is good and has never scratched my rims.
I'm near London and so is this shop.
I'm with coyo on this NEVER bought new.
30 plus years of riding and about 10 bikes later I don't see a new bike in my future. I'd rather get a used bike and spend the money I saved on another toy. I suppose buying used is one of the reasons I have a 2 bikes licensed for the road along with a...
Inreb,
Good luck with the coating. The Tracy was a cool find and will look great on the old SOHC. Enquiring minds wonder where you managed to score it and how much they go for - even if it's none of our d@mn bussiness.
It makes me want to get going on the motor of my 750 so I can mount my 3/4...
Thanks for the latest info. I will call both NAPA and some honda car dealers tomorrow.
I did find a Home Hardware that would order it in for me but an 85 gram tube (think small tube of toothpaste) is 38$. The weathers cold enough that I can spend a bit more time looking before I'm ready for a...
I agree. The DRZ is a good choice. I bought one after doing a day of single track in the ganny on a friends bike. That said I live in west of Stratford so we trailer to the ganny although I'm fully plated.
Trailers are cheap and handy. I pull mine with a toyota echo. I've even hauled goldwings...
I saw an ad on kijiji for just the clean title. The seller had sold off the parts including the frame and thought he could get 1000$ for the piece of paper alone. How do you function like that in real life?
I didn't have a tail light when I was doing night time T&T at St Thomas. That said St Thomas seams pretty lax for test and tune.
The tech inspection was little more than "is that a motorcycle?", "yes", "here's your number"
I did both in order to get better planted with my DRZ400.
For shaving the seat follow sticker above with one additional piece of advice - an electric carving knife is great for shaping the foam.
For the lowering I dropped the triple clamps on the forks and wound down the preload on the rear...
