Suzuki new DR-Z4SM vs Yamaha T7

Maybe. If I was in the market for a drz, I'd rather have the last year of production, than the first year of a "new model". The engine is essentially identical (- fuel injection). Let the problems get sorted out first. They're going to have to drop the price at some point. Sent from my...

Suzuki new DR-Z4SM vs Yamaha T7

Not so sure about the pod filters. Looks almost "flat-track" style. I do like those bikes. Playful. Torque-y. Suspension sucks. Not sure if its any different on the new ones. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

Suzuki new DR-Z4SM vs Yamaha T7

Fz/mt-07 feels like a big motard. I don't see why anyone would put supermoto wheels on a t7. Maybe, If the mt07 didn't exist??? 500 exc-f supermoto would be fun, just not for any kind of distance. Its pretty vibey. By the time you convert a new bike, you are knocking on $20 grand... Drz400sm...

Suzuki new DR-Z4SM vs Yamaha T7

Agreed. I'd hope the new drz4s drops the prices of the outgoing model. Good time to buy a tried and true 24 year run proven dualsport. If the new model was a 6 speed, Lighter, More power - not enough of a performance increase to justify the price. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

Suzuki new DR-Z4SM vs Yamaha T7

T7 is 460 lbs. Wet. Great gravel road bike, but not double and single track; at least not at a reasonable pace, and not when things get difficult. Ktm 390 enduro is going to weigh in at 351lbs. Bolt on some handguards and a skidplate, and you'll be around 360... pretty porky. Moreso than a bush...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Dirtbike maintenance. Removed my exhaust, shock, linkage, and swingarm. Re-grease and clean everything. A friend is helping me heat the dents out-of my pipe, and we're using his scavenging vacuum pump to replace my shock oil. -14° in my shed thismorning... not so nice. Sent from my SM-G960W...

Hes got 3 Aprilia rsv, and a tuono (all early to mid 2000's, Rotax engine v-twins). All crashed, but lots of parts. Likely enough to make a streetbike, and a trackbike with spares. Tempting... Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

    Perfect bike:-Next best thing???

Did that once, during the "Cafe racer" craze back in 2012 or so. 1978 cb750ss. My problem was, once it was fixed, I was trying to ride it like a modern bike... spaghetti frame. Thin tires. I was scraping the wolf 4-1 exhaust around corners. Bike had to go, before I wrecked it. Sent from my...

    Perfect bike:-Next best thing???

I'd argue the opposite. "Its the road that makes the riding fun". The twistier the better. I will agree that cutting through traffic on a small bike is fun. My wr250x is great for this. I'm lucky enough to live outside of the city... I hate heavily congested traffic. As for the Bonneville...

    Perfect bike:-Next best thing???

Why didn't I think of that! Bikes can make local commuting more fun, don't get me wrong. But, in the summer, riding 3 hours north; Bala, Southwood, Kinmount, 507, 503, Glamorgan Rd, 118, 648, back through Algonquin, and home... its a good ride, but its an all day affair for a few excellent...

True. Change your type of riding. Dual sport and dirtbiking has become my go-to. I can get out in the gnarly stuff for a couple hours and not feel guilty. Thursday Steeles and Financial Dr. For group rides. Hopefully the Dragon again this summer. Buddies are talking about a 9 hr drive to...

Ktm 500exc-f with two sets of rims? Honda crf450rl with two sets of rims? (Offroad and supermoto) The new Stark Varg EX? @ $18,000!!! Nope... Perhaps just throw a few parts at what I've got, and enjoy them as much as I can. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

I always felt that if I didn't do 10,000km a season, that I didn't ride enough to justify the insurance. Then the kids came. Now I might get half that, spread between multiple bikes. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

There's no way that thing has 87,000km on it. Likely 8,700km Its a mediocre learner bike, but its disposable, and won't depreciate in value any more than it already has. Excellent first bike. I see why it didn't sell at $1,750 It'll be gone shortly. Hopefully someone on here scoops it up...
