    Float bowl gasket grew?

Sound like the gasket is pooched. Get a new one, or if it is an o-ring you can get one at any hydraulic shop.

Options to make my R1 a tad more comfy on the wrists?

Raising your clipons a little makes a big difference! When I put on the YZF600R front end on my VFR, it dropped the clipons about 2". I couldn't ride the bike more than 30 minutes before I started to ache. I put on some 3rd gen VFR clipons, which raised it back 2" and I can ride all day.

I'm obsessed with dragging my knee

Forget about getting your knee down, for now... Focus on your reference points and find a rhythm. Try to increase your pace and at some point your lean angle will allow your knee to touch. Then you will lift your knee to save your sliders. :)

    changing own tires

It works for me and takes 30 seconds to break the bead. The last time I used a c-clamp it took forever, stretched the bead and the side wall. Plus it kept slipping away from the bead. Like I said, there are many ways to do this...

    changing own tires

You will find many different ways of doing this. This is how I break the bead: (1) Remove valve core (2) Apply soapy water to the rim (3) Gently push down: The small 2x4 has a 45 degree cut on both ends. This helps to keep the wood close to the rim so it doesn't push on the sidewall. (4) Use...

    Fuel pump plate leak

Actually that has been my limited experience as well. When I put on the YZF600F front end on my VFR, I wanted to change the fork seals. Yamaha wanted $42 each side. Using the Motovan catalog, I was able to cross reference the part to a Honda cruiser and paid Honda $22 each side. Then Yamaha...

Big mistake, paint job messed up

As mentioned above, clay bar will work great and after waxing, you will have not idea this happened.

    Fuel pump plate leak

I would simply replace the gasket. I think they are around $15. However, you could try to tighten it up just a little and see if it stops. As for the proper torque setting, I think it is around 7 foot-lbs. (which means snug and a bit.)

Leaking Motorcycle PLEASE HELP PICTURES INCLUDED!!!

I think you have an oil leak that is dripping on the exhaust. Look directly above the oil spot on the exhaust for the source of the leak. If you can, take a pic and post it in this thread.

Bike knocked over at the gas station :(

Now that you have clarified it, I will add this to the agenda at the next "50%-50% Spouting" annual general meeting. :)

Bike knocked over at the gas station :(

Since this happened on private property I think the insurance company will deem both parties 50% responsible.

    Managing amateur track day risk

I don't think it was too serious, but I really don't know. Once in a while I skip the last session (when I am too tired to ride well) but I kind of need the first session to shake down the bike and for me to start to get in the groove.
