Places to stick GoPro's on the Bike

Camera at the side (like first post) is my favorite angle and you get to see how busy the front suspension is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3dDKnEiKJE&feature=plcp Also if you record 60 fps, your frame count makes a very accurate timer. See lower right of video...

    Front end swap

You don't need to stay with Suzuki for a front end swap. I have a YZF600R front end on my 86 VFR750. Your biggest challenge with be fork length, as they should be close to the original length. It looks like the Intruder has very long forks, and I don't think ANY sport bike fork's would be long...

    Tremclad Paint Problem...

@RetroGrouch: Thanks for the link. Might be a winter project. @crankcall: Interesting... I was just reading up on "solvent pop" It is good enough for now. You can't see if from 3+ feet and I want to go for a ride tonight. I will try an additional coat in a few weeks. Thanks to all!

Rattle can paint for race glass?

I am in the process of painting my front fender with tremclad fast dry "professional" spray can. However I am doing something wrong. I wait about 24 hours between coats (as per can instructions) wet sand with 400 grit, and spraying a light coat. I always get this in some small spots: Am I...

    Tremclad Paint Problem...

I agree, but the closest color match at Canadian Tire was tremclad "safey red". I don't want to spend too much on a 26 year old bike with 110,000 Km. To use automotive paint, I would have to pay a shop to mix up the colour, and spray it. My guess at the cost is $150-200 -or- try tremclad for $9...

    Tremclad Paint Problem...

Thanks.... The only reason I am using tremclad is because it is a close match to Honda's Fighting Red (R134) and cheap.

    Tremclad Paint Problem...

I am using the fast drying "professional" tremclad. The can says second coat after 1-2 hours, or after 24 hours. Would the hot weather speed up or slow down the drying time? I will let it sit for a while and try again next week. That should give it enough time for all coats to fully dry. (I hope)

    Tremclad Paint Problem...

I clean it with a new micro fiber cloth. I can't use any alcohol or solvent, as it smears the tremclad.

    Tremclad Paint Problem...

I am in the process of painting my front fender with tremclad. However I am doing something wrong. I wait about 24 hours between coats, wet sand with 400 grit, and spraying a light coat. I always get this: Am I still spraying too much paint, not waiting long enough between coats, or something...

    Local/Canadian supplier of Mosfet R/R?

They won't work on most bokes. Automotive regs control the field winding to determine output. Most bike regs short excess power to ground.

    Local/Canadian supplier of Mosfet R/R?

No personal experience with them, but have you tried http://www.rmstator.com/ based in Quebec?

    Emulsion shock oil level...

I checked with Penske and the shock should be filled to the schrader valve with the piston at the top. This will create a small air pocket when the shock is fully compressed.

    Emulsion shock oil level...

I am in the process of changing the oil in my Penske 8900E. This is an emulsion type shock, so the nitrogen and oil mix. Any idea what the proper oil level is? I carefully measuesed the old level, and it was 66mm. Assuming some oil was lost, I am thinking of about 67mm for the new oil level...

Anyone skipping trackdays the yesr due to $$$?

True, I don't need to do Calabogie, but I would rather skip 3 trackdays at Shannonville, for 1 day at Calabogie. It is THAT nice.

Anyone skipping trackdays the yesr due to $$$?

I under stand what you are saying, but insurance is reasonable for me (age, driving record, and location) I pay $1200 a year for my 01 530. As for repair, I was a BMW tech, so the only cost is parts.

Anyone skipping trackdays the yesr due to $$$?

I double checked my numbers.... It is not 4k, but around 2500. By accident I included my street bike cost. I usually book 7 track days, 4 at Shannonville, 1 Mosport, and 2 at Calabogie. Shannonville is a good value as I don't need a motel. Calabogie is awesome and worth every penny, but the...

Anyone skipping trackdays the yesr due to $$$?

My trackbike is a 91 CBR600... You can't get much older or cheaper. It is great on tires, I get 6 trackdays on a set of tires. I don't smoke, and don't eat out often. I could camp out at Caliboge, but would need to spend $200 plus for a tent and stuff.(plus I like sleeping in a bed) As fr...

Anyone skipping trackdays the yesr due to $$$?

I love my trackdays on my CBR, but I will be skipping this year due to cost (both kids getting braces this year) and time constraints. In total, my 6 track days cost about $4,000 (gas, tires, hotel for Calabogie, and 6 days rental) Is anyone else skipping this year? If so, why?

    Doubting my mechanic...

Do you realize by added LEDs you are making the R/R work harder? Unlike a car, most motorcycles charging systems generate 100% power and short what is not needed to ground. The stock R/R is fine IF you have good grounds and contacts. Every old bike needs the connections cleaned up. My R/R is...
