I must admit, I am more than happy with my sport touring SV. It looks sporty but not overly, it handles amazingly well, has more than enough power in its 650cc's and looks really nice. Supersport bikes look cool and all but they seem best for a racetrack, IMHO. Supersports are also more sought...
like another poster pointed out, the tend to be 50 and 125cc. The chance of road rash is far less. The ones you see without gear tend to be the average person who lives in a condo and looks at the bike as a fasion acessory. Marketing is to blame too along with merchants.

I get a kick out of the guys that go on about never dropping their bikes. I believe most of it is pure hogwash, truth is, accidents like this happen to all of us at one time or another. With that said, don't beat yourself up over something that was going to happen at some time or another. Glad...
I say suck in all that worry and just go out and ride. Bikes are meant to be dropped, thrashed and ridden hard. Push the bike to its limits as you become comfortable. Try riding to work, commutes are easy and you can start off taking city streets. Stop and go traffic is the best training.

I have this shed. Bought it from Lowes for $899. Super easy to build. Honestly.

If you want to save money you can get an 8x10 aluminum shed. It'll be only $300 but you'll be building it and the foundation for a...
I would suggest buying used from a dealership. I got my SV650 from Motorcycle Superstore aka Cycleworld in Scarborough. They can be tough to haggle with but not unreasonable. I got $500 off the price of my bike, free alarm, no taxes on a helmet, licensing/registration free and safetyed/certified...
