    A motorcycle thief has graduated...

    Temporary HOV lanes

It's more pressure to explore alternative methods of transportation including carpooling. If you get 2 more people into the car you can be the 4th car in that lane. :)

Disassemble everything, put everything that can loosen on blue loctite and let cure for 24 hours.

    Temporary HOV lanes

Most car drivers won't be able to use them either so it's not entirely unreasonable.

Backpack increase risk of back injuries?

I highsided recently with a full backpack at 60km/h when I went through some mud in the corner and flew off the bike when it caught traction again. My backpack is one of those hiking ones with a metal plate in the back. I didn't have anything hard in it, it was just filled with clothes as I was...

Resetting my Acewell 3700 digital dash

Here's some more info that I found: http://www.acewell-meter.com/e11.php If this is correct, your wheel takes circumference in millimetres. You can calculate the circumference using the formula Tire Diameter (inches) x 25.4(mm/inches) x 3.1416 = wheel circumference (in mm). Another way you...

Resetting my Acewell 3700 digital dash

Yeah you can set it by setting the circumference. Check the manual for how you can enter a configuration mode and set the correct circumference of the wheel. Also, check your magnet and make sure the whole setup is still solid.

Valve clearance slightly out of spec - Safe to continue riding ?

Yeah, from what I've read they can go back and fourth, but more common is tightening. I've got my shim kit, going to work on it today.

Resetting my Acewell 3700 digital dash

Reset? Do you mean the odometer or just update the wheel circumference to get correct speeds? You should be able to set the circumference using steps in the ACE-37XXE_38XXE-EN-V1.0 manual.

Where do you buy your parts?

That's true. Some things may be very complicated or require special expensive tools I don't have. However, there will never be a time when I won't be able to find a mechanic to work on the bike. People will find a way to provide a service and profit from it if there's demand. It may not be...

Where do you buy your parts?

There's too much rambling here to answer to both of you in a structured manner, but let me answer two things that have been said 1) Who will fix my bike I will fix my own bike with the help of service manuals and people on the internet. I actually find great pleasure in working on projects...

Where do you buy your parts?

In my situation if I NEED a crush washer for the bike to run, I'm not going anywhere anyways since it's my only mode of motorized transport, and even if it wasn't, I don't mind waiting for it to come in and doing other things in the mean time. They aren't, and I don't understand the obsession...

Where do you buy your parts?

I get oil filters for less than $5 including tax from CanadaMotorcycle. A year back I got a Honda filter + washer + gasket for $30 from a brick and mortar in Vancouver. Another time I needed a single 12mm crush washer, I don't remember the exact price from a local-ish Toronto dealer but it was...

Where do you buy your parts?

Why? I can get much cheaper parts elsewhere, why should I shop in a local brick and mortar store and pay 3x the price on an oil filter? I'm genuinely curious.

Valve clearance slightly out of spec - Safe to continue riding ?

I checked valve clearances today and they are as follows: Intake - .13mm for both Exhaust - .18mm one side, .20mm the other Now the clearances should be .10-.20 for intake and .20-.30mm for exhaust. This puts me right out of spec for one of the valves. I've ordered a shim kit,but it will take...

Old Nipissing Ride - Saturday, May 16th

Great day indeed! Can't believe I'm still able to move after 800km on a DRZ! Those breaks definitely helped. The only sore part is my neck, and that's because I have no windshield + heavy helmet. Chase, to address your mileage concern, I didn't run out of gas once all the way until we were all...
