There's nothing appealing to me about this. Crazy traffic getting in and out just to walk around and look at bikes that are parked? It's a glorified Tim Hortons meet up.
Would rather spend the day....actually riding my bike somewhere else.
Might be brining up worms here but which tracks pay their corner marshalls?
I've seen the same people at Grand Bend and Shannonville for both track days and races... But have heard they do not get paid.
Other tracks I've been to, it seems like people who just hang around.
It should be a paid...
You don't need a street license at all.
For racing, you need a license.
There are a few different race organizations that have license days where they teach you the basics of track etiquette, prep, flags and track lines. But from your other posts, you've already done the Racer5 weekend...
Good question!
I can relate. I had zero interest in motorsports until I bought a motorbike.
After I bought one, I started to understand the complexities of what the riders inputs where and the extreme level of talent to perform at professional levels. Then I started watching motorcycle...
Nothing to worry about (so far) if you're not breaking the law.
Police racial profiling is a bigger issue than motorcyclists having their picture taken and their plates checked.
Buy/Sell section here, Kijiji and a few Facebook groups (Trackday Fanatics, RACE and SOAR). If you post on Shannonville RACE and the Grand Bend SOAR groups asking, I'm sure there will be lots of people that have bikes for sale.
Double check the license transfer with rental companies.
I lived in the Wales for a while and their motorcycle licences are not swappable with Ontario if you're moving. There might be different rules in Scotland and if you're renting vs. permanent transfer. I've heard many stories of people...
If you did the Racer5 course, you can just pay for your Shannonville regional license and don't have to do their license program. I did the same thing.
Sounds like you're already to go except for the bike!!
CSBK is a step up from regionals at Shannonville but cost wise, it's comparable if...
No problem! They're a great shop and support the racers/track people very well. They had a new shipment of these helmets posted on their Facebook recently.
If you're not using it on the street, best way is to get one already prepped. If you find a used one that's been dropped on the street for $2800-3000, then you're in to it for $3400 after fairings....with stock front/rear suspension and no "race" parts like foot risers or any spares. For around...
If you take a street bike to the track, it will cost you more in the long run repairing all the stuff you break. It will happened sooner or later
If Jacobs bike is in your budget, it's a safe buy even though it's been down (all track/race bikes have). Steve's bike is also a good buy if your...
Trackdays are still fine on the 300's though. You run the same risk with other peoples choices regardless of what bike you're on.
Pantich, what area are you in? Post links/info in here when you zero in on a few bikes. If it's a bike is my side of Toronto, I'd come and give you a hand with...
Us 250/300 guys are on the track for practice with big bikes at races. The difference is, I'd trust someone who races before some occasional track day guy in regards to making safe decisions.
