Nothing is idiot proof. I've mounted a front with tread pointing forward in a rush...then had to spoon it off and redo it in the proper direction. Rushing saved no time that time.
Not around here. It's also much more expensive to get going than the usual lightweight bikes (Ninja's, CBR's, R3) plus lack of interest = no one to race with.
