im sure that's a part of it but it doesn't explain why the guy that's way slower than me around the corner can beat me on the straight. Anyway, I'll just stick to riding it out. I appreciate the legitimate responses I've gotten so far. Have a good one guys
Thats all dandy and it's good advice although I got the impression I was making a relativey simple mistake to which I assumed there was a simple correction.
I'll look into the course. Won't be til next season though
Lol, I've noticed this sometimes. Sometimes it's because I'm passing on the inside and I'm scared I won't be able to make the turn at my regular speed when I'm not on my usual line. Just practice here I guess
I think you are misinterpreting what I'm saying. I am in fact asking for the advice and I am also conveying my thoughts as to why I'm doing what it is I'm doing. If you haven't noticed all you have told me is what not to do but not what I should be doing which is what I'm interested in.
When I...
Yeah I can feel it, which is why I used the clutch to stabilize. It'll come with more seat time. I've only done 2 track days thus far so I'm not worried
That was my original focus and then I ended up being stuck being painfully slow people around corners who would stay in front of me because I couldn't pass them on the straights. Consequently I changed my focus haha
I never did until I realized that I was trailgating people around corners but never being able to pass them when the straight came because I was in too high of a gear. It actually helped me pass people. So I'm trying to figure out exactly what I'm doing wrong
Now I'm not an expert or anything but I can get up to 110-120 km/h in first gear on my bike and I definitely don't do that speed around the corners being a new rider. I stay in first around the corner and it gives me more acceleration out of the corner because I'm within the high power band RPM...
Nope. To clarify... My common sense tells me that the general principle to maintaining access to acceleration at all times is maintaining a high RPM especially on an R6. On a slow track like TMP to do this I have to go around corners in first gear and it gets choppy sometimes for me so I use the...
I'll probably start off riding in the beginner group but if there are a few very slow riders I'll switch to intermediate so I'm not in a traffic jam. I can pass in the corners better than I can on the straights. I'm just too lazy to keep the clutch on in first gear around every corner so I don't...
The film will be even more dramatic when you get black flagged :P Haven't added any performance mods to my bike. She's stock pretty much except for a few minor things.
I'm 26 and looking for some people to ride with around beginner/intermediate level. I have two Gopros so we can take some nice shots of eachother as well. The more Gopros the better!
This was on the Saturday. I enjoy editing videos as such. It adds a nice flare. It was my second time doing a track day and I think I'm ready to move into the intermediate group now :P
