    CBR125 Dirty Bars Project

Handguards installed... with just enough clearance for the fairing too. I think I'll take my time making the CBR bar pad cover. The Moose racing cover is satisfactory for now. I still have plans to buy a Puig touring windscreen, because the stock one looks pretty useless now with the...

    CBR125 Dirty Bars Project

I've taken the bike to 130km/h so far without any sign of shakiness. It's actually really comfy and stable. I have a ton more control too. I also noticed that my bike leans over more on the kickstand due to the raised front-end. I think it would lean over too much if I raised the rear-end...

    CBR125 Dirty Bars Project

It's called Ignition Power Sports. It's at the intersection of Boyers road and Woodbine, just north of Keswick. The guy works there by himself, his name is Adam Price. Excellent guy to take your bike to. The number is 905-476-1906. Tell him Travis sent you... or just call me the guy with the...

    CBR125 Dirty Bars Project

More progress! I'm 99.9% done! I replaced my front fairings. They were a little frustrating to get back on, because I had to constantly fiddle with the birds nest, bending it back and forth. But I got it done and they look fantastic, compared to my old cracked/bent one. I threw some grips on...

    CBR125 Dirty Bars Project

Thanks... I think? The only thing I actually broke today was the plastic ring for the gauges; that was actually during my first attempt at bending the birds nest back by smacking it with a rubber mallet (obviously a bad idea... 20/20 hindsight). Everything else was already damaged from all the...

    CBR125 Dirty Bars Project

I got a lot done today, but you'd never know it if you look at the bike. I spent around 5 or 6 hours tinkering around with all sorts of crap. I managed to reroute the wires around without needing to make a single extension at all, which I'm very proud of by the way. I used a couple of zip ties...

    CBR125 Dirty Bars Project

Thanks BJ. I also meant to mention that I'm also definitely going to swap out my 15 tooth front sprocket for a 14 tooth one. That will help 2nd gear become a little more useful off-road, as well as making 6th gear useful for more than just cruising down steep hills.

    CBR125 Dirty Bars Project

So I've made some decent progress and I'm about 85-90% where I want to be when I'm finished. I filled the little rectangular gap with some JB weld and finally got the triple clamp drilled. Then I assembled the handlebars with the used TRX handlebar clamps from eBay and got them mounted...

    CBR125 Dirty Bars Project

UPDATE: I decided to lift the front wheel off the ground by placing a few bricks underneath the frame (avoiding the header pipe). This is so that the weight of the bike isn't being put all on the bottom bridge of the triple clamp when I remove the top bridge I then lifted up the gas tank and...

@fastar1 I actually plan on using bar risers so that the bars can turn without hitting the cluster. So far, I measured everything and it should work fine.

    CBR125 Dirty Bars Project

I was looking through eBay and I found this: It is the triple clamp of the European Honda XL125 Varadero (the 125cc version of the XL1000). It looks remarkably similar to the CBR125 triple clamp. I'm assuming it houses the same size forks, but the XL125 forks look slightly further apart...

    CBR125 Dirty Bars Project

With 50,000km on it, and all the abuse I've given this bike, it probably wouldn't sell for much. Plus, there's always the "why not?" factor, because I love my CBR125. I even plan on buying another one when this bike stops running. You can find them on Kijiji for $1500-2000 practically brand...

    CBR125 Dirty Bars Project

I just received my new Moose Racing CR Low Handlebars, as well as my Rox Pivoting 7/8" Handlebar Risers. All I need now is the actual bar clamps and I'm set to start drilling the top of the triple tree, mounting the bars, and seeing how much cable/wiring extension that I need. I plan on...

    CBR125 Dual sport

That really sucks... but yeah, that's why I wanted them, because they have so many tire sizes for the 17 inch rim. But no sizes for 16 inch unfortunately.

http://gnarlyparts.ca/index.php?cPath=1515_6720_6721_11292 It's a shop located in British Columbia. Don't worry, though, the shipping is dirt cheap, but it will take a while. 9$ for shipping across Canada. I can't really seem to find anywhere else online that sells the tire in Canada but that...

Yes, those could work for you. Shinko SR241 Front/Rear Dual Sport Tire 3.00-16 (front) 3.50-18 (rear) or possibly... 4.00-18 (rear) I actually considered using the Shinko 241 tire, but it just didn't seem aggressive enough for what I was looking for.

No I never said that. They are definitely tubed type tires. It was interesting trying to fit a tube-type tire on my stock CBR tubeless rim, that's for sure. But it worked.

    CBR125 Dual sport

That tire doesn't have a rating, apparently. So I'd say that you shouldn't exceed 100km/h. I actually would recommend the Shinko tires, though. You barely even notice that it's a dual sport tire at all. Plus, they are rated up to 120km/h and they ride incredibly smooth AND they come in sizes...

Why don't you try this tire then? IRC NR-21 Rear Universal Tire (Tube type) 3.00-16 front 3.50-18 rear

    CBR125 Dual sport

My rear tire is a 3.00-17, but my stock size is 100/80-17... so I think you're right, because the one I have now is slightly smaller than the stock size approximately 90/90. But I'm pretty sure 3.00 and 3.50 are interchangeable, as long as you use a larger/smaller front tire to match it...
