Actually, you weren't the first person to think of that idea...
"Florida to Alaska and Back on a Honda CBR125R"

You'd be surprised. This is a picture of another camping trip, which I didn't attend. I believe it was 2010 or 2011, but I'm not sure.
This year's trip, there are 8 bikes (including myself) signed up to attend so far. Most of them are riding a CBR125. Who would of guessed? :O
This is the...
This is my rear tire at 8 or 9000km. Not too shabby, if you ask me, especially for only $35 per tire. The middle is just above half-way done, and the sides are barely 1/4 of the way done. The front tire is basically untouched. No problems with traction yet, on or off-road.
Are you kidding me? My garage is tiny, and I'm a complete amateur. The only things you need is a basic tool set from Canadian Tire and a little common sense. And maybe some good internet research skills. I got most of my info from customfighters.com and I figured out the rest myself as I went...
We differ in opinions. It's as simple as that. The politically correct term for my bike is a "scrambler", not a dual sport.
I could easily say the same thing about supermoto bikes. Why not get a "real" street bike? Nothing about them looks like much fun either.
If you think I'm the first...
This looks like it would work GREAT!
I found an eBay seller in Canada too, which is a huge bonus. (No shipping costs)

That's just a temporary solution for now. I do plan on getting a RAM mount in the future.
Thanks for the advice - I was definitely thinking about attaching some sort of tether to it, in case anything happens. And now I will.
I'm considering buying this handlebar mount instead, because it looks...
Not really, aside from a little extra maintenance before the big camping trip...
Speaking of which, this is my second attempt at packing everything (I ditched the backpack, because it didn't fit all my camping gear):
- The tent I bought never came with a rain fly, because it is apparently...
Alright, I think I'm all ready for the 1500km camping trip up north coming up in July! The bike is in full touring mode now.
Everything fits, and it doesn't actually look too bad. The red backpack makes an excellent back rest. I may need to strap a pillow onto it :)
For the record, THIS is exactly what I intended on doing with the handlebars and the headlight.
And this would be a cool way to mount the gauges too.
(ignore the random arrows and stuff)
14 tooth sprocket installed, so now I've got a tiny bit more low-end power, but my top speed is now limited to 130km/h instead of 140. I notice big time when I'm climbing hills.
Koso mirrors installed. They look great, but unfortunately they shake like a dog ******** out razor blades because...
Got the Puig Windscreen installed. And I figured out how to install a new Iridium spark plug (CR9EIX). I also decked the new fairings out in some fancy stickers from all the aftermarket stuff I acquired.
New Spark Plug
Oooooh Shiny! ...not for long ;D
Old Spark Plug
(After 49,000kms)...
Well, there's two of them. One is halfway between Bradford and Newmarket, just off highway 11. The other one is north of bradford, off side-road 10, at the end end of the 14th line.
I made a couple of videos with my buddy's GoPro for all to see. In case anyone was wondering how the bike handles on/off road after doing my dual sport conversion project. I'm pretty damn impressed to say the least, hopefully the feeling is mutual.
About the bike project -...
By the way, I forgot to mention...
I rode to down town Toronto on Friday straight down Yonge street all the way to Lakeshore and I noticed a huge difference in how much more comfortable I am for longer rides. The upright seating position makes my back feel great, and my wrists/knees feel no...
I borrowed my friend's GoPro HD Hero camera and made 2 videos. One is of me riding around, and another is showing a walk around for the bike.
