Cheapest Insurance for 50 year old dad and 17 year old son

Chris got the information he needed to write the quotes directly from me and he has been reading this thread as well so I highly doubt he's confused on what our situation is. I'm done with this petty arguing. If you believe that either I or a licensed insurance agent is not capable of...

So, let me get this straight. I come back with the quotes . . . and you two get salty that a 17 year old can have affordable insurance and I even get called a liar. Fine. http://imgur.com/D4INo5x That's a screenshot of the email I got from Chris. As I have stated multiple times and as shown...

Wow, it seems we got some really good rates because some of you are having trouble even believing them! :D

Yeah, I highly recommend Paul and Chris for bike insurance. I had contacted them previously for our XT225 in 2015 and at the time they also provided the best rate! My dad jumped the gun though and got insurance with TD before I had a chance to tell him about the quotes Chris sent. Oh well. When...

Rates are for my dad as the primary and me as the secondary, that is correct. Like I said, I did find a few insurers that would at least be able to write the policy, but at astronomical rates ($10K+). And just to confirm, my father and I both got our M2 in December 2015 so there is less than 4...

I'm back! Ok so I have the quotes and I must say, I am very happy with most of them. Shoutout to Paul and Chris South at Surnet Insurance for providing all the best rates! Unfortunately, the supersport is not insureable through Aviva without at least 4 years riding experience. We are still...

Cheapest Insurance for 50 year old dad and 17 year old son

I asked each agent I contacted to quote us for a list of bikes, with the same coverage ($1M liability, $1000 deductible for collision and comprehensive). The bikes are: CBR600RR, FZ-07, KTM 690 Enduro R, SV650, and a Ninja 300 for the hell of it. Model years vary, you'll see them when I post the...

Update: I contacted a number of insurance agents today and left my info with them, I expect to receive all the quotes by Monday or Tuesday. From there I'll post the best ones. Stay tuned!

From the few times I've ridden a supersport so far I've been able to control myself, but if we actually buy one that might be a little tough haha. Maybe a couple track days here and there would be a good idea. :D

Good advice Joe, thanks. PrivatePilot, that's a great story and obviously that accident had a lot of impact on you as a rider and made you the rider you are today. Glad to see you still have an open mind and willingness to learn. I like to think I have the same mindset, as does my dad. Now...

Cheapest Insurance for 50 year old dad and 17 year old son

Oh no, I understand why my dad isn't thrilled with being hunched over on a supersport in his fifties haha. He's a pretty small guy though and in good shape for his age so hopefully he should be ok. My question was to GateKeeper asking why he bolded that passage as supposedly he thinks it proves...

There are inherent risks to riding which yes, are amplified by supersports. Mistakes will happen, I agree. No rider is perfect. I am not disputing that supersports are more dangerous than other types of bikes. However, the we're willing to take the higher risk. Thanks bigpoppa.

You really need to understand what I write. The whole point of my middle paragraph in that post was to prove that no rider can claim they can truly justify owning a supersport from a performance aspect, but performance isn't everything when it comes to riding. Which is why there are some riders...

Haha yes, my dad loves everything about the supersports except for the seating position. It'll definitely take some getting used to.

See PrivatePilot, I have no issue with your response because it is intelligent, not condescending and offers insight I can actually learn from. Thank you. It's fair you would think that I'm not ready for a supersport, but my father is definitely ready for one even though his lack of insurance...

GateKeeper, it seems you are unable to respect my opinions which is what I have an issue with. I welcome constructive criticism, the entire purpose of me joining this forum is to learn and grow as a person and a rider. But I detest when people talk down to me simply due to my age, as you have...

'Seems I know more than most of you 50 year olds?' Is that supposed to be sarcasm? When did I ever claim, or even imply I was more knowledgeable than 'you 50 year olds'? I prefaced my last most with to each their own, which is another way to say I am simply stating my humble opinion. And again...

To each their own, but I would definitely say my dirt riding has helped me here on the street. Basic operation of a motorcycle is the exact same, as well as balance. Plus I've learned how to crash haha. But yes, I agree that street and dirt riding are vastly different and I won't ever call...
