I do have the UVIP for both bikes now. Makes for some interesting reading for sure.

So for those following along at home, the VIN numbers tell me they are: 2009 KAWASAKI EX250 2015 YAMAHA YZF-R3 The 09 is pretty rough and some cracks on the cladding etc.. the 15 is pretty much showroom condition from what I can see with my untrained eye.

Yes just the steering lock, the handle bars on the Kawasaki don't turn, the Yamaha is fine.

Good call, makes perfect sense. Honestly my only hope is to get rid of them, if I can do so by putting them in my name and making a few bucks, that's great so I don't mind putting a little money for searches, etc... but yeah I won't go too far down any rabbit holes. Literally did a spit...

You know what just jumped into my head, what the heck would I do about keys? They are going to need keys at some point, how does one go about fixing that issue? One of the front tires is locked so it can't turn I assume until the keys are inserted.

That is what I am told by others, but those people know as little about bikes as I do, hence coming here to the place where people do know stuff. I will head down the path with the info you guys have so generously provided and see what comes of it. Thanks very much.

Thank you, 100% not stolen, they were two students from Hong Kong here going to school. Mommy and Daddy bought them the bikes to get around. They paid the rent a year in advance up front and quite sure the Bike's are free and clear.

For the sake of argument.. and the fact it's accurate let's pretend I'm a moron when it comes to bikes :-) Where would I find a VIN on them? How would I "run their VIN through DMV" A friend tells me the Yamaha has some value, so if its not a ton of work I wouldn't mind looking into a little...
