Correct they will no longer write SS unless it is 16yrs or prior. They also changed the driving record from 0 to "other". They now have 4 levels of driving records. 0,1,2,3. They are allowing payments on 6 installments, previous was 4 installments

Looks like no more surcharge for sport bikes as they will no longer write them. Models 16 yrs and prior will be considered Standard models. Driving records will now be 0,1,2,3.

There are a lot of factors that could have increased the price. You could have been paying rates that were filed last year. This years rates could have risen. The newer bike could be worth more which means the rates could increase.

OP... A broker will be your best bet as they will shop it around to multiple insurers. There are likely very little to none that will account for your insurance history in Australia. Some will except US exprience. You may have a higher rate for about a year while you establish insurance...

Sorry Moto but that is not correct. As I stated before there are companies such as Jevco that will only rate accidents with a motorcycle. As well there are also some companies that will not rate for an accident that occurs while driving a work vehicle. Tickets will follow you regardless.
