Promised I'd write a trip report - went to Pennsylvania, it was fun ;-)
Seriously it was a great weekend and I will post some awesome pictures later - not all 970 of them, but a few.
The weather was perfect - but all that needs to be said about PA roads has been said before.
The weather looks perfect for the first overnighter of the season (not counting the fly and rent trip I made out to Phoenix).
Leaving Hamilton early Saturday morning - might be lucky and have my Nexus card in the mail by then. Haven't firmed up which route I'll run down yet, but I'll look at...
Sigh -I know what you mean. There was only one year since my first trip out west I haven't headed back although I cheated this spring and flew to Phoenix. I'm already contemplating a run back to Colorado in the fall.
Sounds like you were lucky weather wise with California and Arizona now...
I've only heard from Rakkaus from Hamilton - so Rakkaus its cool with me if you still want to go to this ride or wait for the closer one - as the kids say "its all good".
OK - lets say the Tim Horton's at the corner of King and Dundurn - the one right across from Sturgess Cycle, not the one in the plaza - 8:30 a.m., then we can boot out on the QEW to at least start. I'll do a little more route planning once I get home and off the boss's computer :-)
Highway riding (QEW/403/410) - we would need to leave at 9:00 a.m. to hit meeting spot at 10:00 a.m. - going at a relaxed pace. Avoiding the major highways would add another 1/2 hour to that time. That's calculating from the east end of Hamilton, but I don't care where in the Hamilton area we...
I can lead people up from this area (I'm in east Hamilton) if there's interest - I'm an experienced rider and group rider. Departure time would depend on whether any highway riding is involved - pm or post if interested. I'm working today but will check in at noon.
RE - motorcycle passing me in my own lane - unannounced majorily ****** off - if I know you are coming on two lane roads, will make every effort to pull far enough to let you go by and have your fun, on multi lane or highways I keep to the right unless passing, but that doesn't necessarily...
I actually ended up taking a really nice run up to Collingwood yesterday and except for a minor sprinkling on the way up, the weather was great (at least with heated gear on just enough to take away the morning chill). There was no traffic and it was fun to hit some of the old tried and trues...
Its starting to look like home is going to be the best weather over the next couple of days. Around Niagara and the escarpment here in Hamilton is actually beautiful right with buds and blooms now so might just enjoy the Niagara area twisities this weekend. Also have my Nexus card interview...
I've been waffling but definitely getting antsy. Saturday is out for me with friend and family plans but if the weather forecast stays clear may do a quickie run Sunday to the
Coudersport/Renovo area. Something that doesn't require a lot of planning or money. Stay at Coudersport or Wellsboro...
I have passed through Amarillo, but didn't have the chance to stay there. I also wanted to see the Palo Duro (think that's the wrong spelling) Canyon, as well as the Cadillac Ranch - again have to wait for a different trip. Panhandle in Texas was my least favourite part of my return trip from...
