Yeah in many ways a bigger bike is actually safer for general street riding. The problem I am having is addiction to the performance of a bigger bike so I end up riding faster to get the rush. That's where guys run into trouble but I'm gonna work on it.
I'm on the other end of it, I started riding dirt at a very young age and living far from the city has afforded me an extensive amount of riding throughout the years. Even on the road, noone thinks twice about it here. We do whatever we want on our bikes, just wave to your neighbors on the way...
I wish I had that kind of time. I will do the blue ridge at some point. I have relatives down on Florida so I could use that as an excuse. Although I'd be buying some serious touring kit for a trip like that.
You are right the FZ is much smoother in its delivery then the SS bikes. The power comes on earlier but it's still a high strung inline 4 that hits the hardest after 8k which pulls hard to redline 13k. It will easily spin the rear below 60 in second so it's not like the bike is docile. It gets...
Too many posts to quote so I'll try to make a general one.
I want to become a highly skilled rider someday so losing my license in year 1 wouldn't help me accomplish that. I am going to focus on riding smooth and defensive. Once I feel like my skill is stagnating I will force myself to a track...
Well I don't feel like such a bad apple now. I just have to cut down on some of the riskier maneuvers. I feel so much more capable then everything around me so i tend to treat cars like speed bumps and forget sometimes that they can be very unpredictable.
I ride mostly high speed country roads...
So I'm having a clash of good vs evil here. I'm getting more and more comfortable riding at a high pace and it seems like it's becoming the norm now. I'm always going faster then traffic even when I'm cruising, is this normal?
Do you guys tend to always ride a little more aggressive or faster...
I don't get it, why do you want to wear a jacket with a hood?
Like you're secretly trying to fit in with your squid buddies without actually wearing a T-shirt?
I did have a CBR600F4I, but i wanted an upgrade ;)
I've always been under the assumption that stock rated plugs are the way to go, feel free to change that opinion if you want.
No, second set. Front was new last season and i just put a new rear on a month ago. It did have the original Dunlop...
I like the 650F. I know it didn't wow anyone in comparisons and stuff but the bikes in this class are about versatility. Like a modern day F4I minus about 15hp.
I wouldn't trade my 6R for one but i imagine it would be a fine bike to own.
Yeah Baggzy is slacking, this knowledge is well archived :D.
Anyways just wanted to thank everyone who chimed in. Probably saved me some NOOB tax when all is said and done.
Seems like a reasonable checklist. I'm a little tentative with stuff like this because it's so important to get right the first time. Either way it'll get done.
Didn't even notice lol. Going more then 26 hours with no sleep plays tricks on your mind.
I might get energetic on an off day and give it a go, would prefer to have an experienced overwatch but what can ya do.
Thank you for the detailed post, appreciate it.
The only thing I'm positive needs to be done is the brake fluid. It's black, zero transparency.
Bikes a 2012.
I don't have a break bleeder kit and honestly i just don't have the time to do all this right now. I work 70+ hour weeks and the rest of the time is spent sleeping and spending time with my daughter. I rather ride for the 5% of time i get to myself.
