I think there's a difference between oil in a sealed container, and oil thats been sitting in a motorcycle over winter. I'm aware what oil on the shelf is and where it comes from.
I always change my oil after winter storage before I'm gonna ride for the season. Oil over time will lose it's viscosity and will not lubricate the engine properly. Your situation is a little different since it's only been like 4 months, but personally I would change it. but I'm crazy about...
I hear a lot of guys use Rotella T6 and have no problems, but I always stick to Motul. currently using Motul 300v and I think it was $56 for 4L which is not that much
