My best at TMP was 1:19 in June of 2012. I went back to TMP in August to try and shake off the effects of bad crash and Could barely crack 1:25's. I'm excited for riding season this year and new timing for GBM!
Lap timers are a great tool for learning, you can usually find good used ones too.
Personally, I haven't taken these courses. I can tell you that three people I know that have, have all grew more as a rider in four days than I did in a season. Racer5 group is great! I've done track days with them many times and always have a great time. I can tell you that no other track day...
TMP is one hour from my house (Buffalo,NY). I would much rather drive to GBM any day rather than TMP. It's a little further but I don't even mind. It's a great facuility. This past year was my first season getting into racing myself, I had a blast. Everyone at SOAR was awesome! Ken was my school...
Yeah, that's what I meant. I just didn't type it that way. haha You can't do a season with another Org and still be a rookie the next with SOAR.
Caboose- I'm cycling quite a bit. My goal was 2000 miles this year on the bicycle. I'm only at 1500:/ I'm at 235 right now. Aiming for 210-215 for...
^ The rule book is referring to six Rookie races, not six races in total.
Caboose, I like that advice, Thank you. I'm extremely focused on losing weight and being in better overall shape physically and mentally next season. One of my goals this year was to not get lapped... That lasted two...
Never Ever Again. Well for a long time. Will I ever do an Open Sprint again. I need to have wayyy more speed before I even consider entering that class again :)
This is a thread about open sprint! Who's running it? :)
But really. I've raced two rounds in Rookie. It's a great place to start, if your eligible, run it! The round in July had over 30 bikes in it! Everyone for the most part has someone to have a fun race with. My first rookie race is what...
I recently tried GP shift. I like it. I wear a size 12 boot and as previously stated it makes shifting out of a corner a bit easier. It took a few laps to figure it out. Definitely worth a try!
As of right now no racing. They're calling it a 'safety' track to help get riders off the street. Team Promotion has a lot of input on things there. For the first few years to help meet neighbors demands, no racing.. I give it a year lol can't wait to check it out. About 3 hours from me!
Zx600 ^^ Is that Rick Roberts old bike in your avatar? Also! Come do Open Sprint Round 5!! I looked up grids for round 4 and it was pretty small. It'll be fun!
I rode on the street for three years. Always talked about getting to the track. Had a squid moment, got a road block, fines for every town I went through, Suspended license and the courts almost made me sell my bike. All at the ripe age of 20. I said F the street, did a track day and fell in...
