If it is still running just a well as it was prior to the noise increase it could be that the packing in the muffler has burnt off, although that usually only happens with cheap aftermarket mufflers. Another possibility is that an exhaust clamp has come loose and exhaust gases are escaping...

Blueing of the exhaust headers is due to very hot exhaust gases. Usually indicates that the bike is running very lean, which is not good. Either the carbs need different jets or the valves need to be adjusted (most likely both). I'm 99% sure its not removable
