Rear end slides (sideways) under hard breaking

IMHO the front tire is way too skinny on all bikes, esp the budget bikes like mine. How is one supposed to get any traction when breaking? Anyways, people who said to ease up on the rear break have a point, I am probably locking up the rear wheel on top of everything else going wrong. T.Y.

The problem is, the front tire is real skinny and i don't have ABS...very easy to lock it...and keep on sliding!

    Shell Gas Station Policy

I normally fill up at the same station always (so they "know" me i imagine). Today, just for laughs I went into an esso i've never been before (and didn't take off the full face helmet - just lifted the visor). Even tho its was like 2 or 3 in the afternoon, the guy was eyeing me nervously as i...

    GPS for Motorbikes

This is what I have. Garmin Nuvi 2555LM ($100 refurbished from Tigerdirect in burlington, and $50 RAM "mount" from gpscity.ca. Be aware RAM "mount" is modular, so you need to order 3 pieces - the unit cradle, the clamp, and "ball" swivel (or whatever its called). I have not hacked my...

To the OP - what kind of front wheel/tire you have ? It seems bigger than stock. Also, what kind of repairs did you have to do in the 7yrs?

    Shell Gas Station Policy

One time I got into yelling match with an Esso guy. Apparently its govt or Esso regulation - rider must dismount before filling. He even showed me the colored poster with pictures on the supposedly correct filling technique. So I was, "how the f can I get a FULL tank when its tilted??!"

    ZX14 insurance

No I was stupefied by how cheap it is for you. I'm quoted about $1200 for a pitiful 600cc (like Ninja 650). I don't have 6 yrs experience though...

Which companies/agents are worth calling for a quote on a modest SS?

Mature rider, GM license, "perfect" record. I'm currently with Riders Plus but they don't insure even big cc sport bikes. I was thinking a 2012 or newer ZX-6R.

    2012 ninja 250R - no low beam

Got new bulb, and checked the fuse - still no low beam. I'm thinking it might be the relay, but I can't find the damn relay box (its not under the front seat) - the service manual that I have is for a DFI Ninja 250R. Anybody knows where its located on the carb version of the bike? Also, where...

    Winter Introductory Motorcycle Repair courses..

I doubt you'll find bike repair courses, but you can take auto mechanic course instead. Check out centennial college. But unless you intend to work as a (licensed) mechanic i don't see the point. Get a service manual for your bike and just follow the instructions.
