Wow what a trip. The riding got better every day. I encourage anyone thinking about doing this to do it. I'm not sure which was better the canyons, the mountain passes, the deserts or monument valley. Here is the modified route thanks to some of your suggestions...
Thanks Wheelieboy - 141 is definately in the plans. I don'y have a lot of extra time in the schedule to get to Vegas but I have an extra 4 days on the back end. My brother only has a week off so the time crunch will be getting there. I am free to do some exploring on the return leg although I'd...
Wow Beartooth Highway looks amazing. Thanks so much for posting this. My brother lives in Calgary so he is meeting us in Billings. I had no idea about that road. I think it could be the highlight of the whole trip
I've got a couple of weeks vacation and I'm heading west. Here is the rough route. Love to here of suggested sites to be sure not to miss along this route?
I will be taking camping gear and I'm meeting my brother in Billings. Also plan on spending a couple of nights in Vegas. Other than those...
Make sure to take chain lube.
Consider riding to Hfx through the states. The route is more interesting and it would be more enjoyable on your 250 then fighting freeway boredom on the Canadian route. just a thought.
Sounds very similar. I too updated from an old guy sports bike. The FZ1 is a great bike much like my ZRX1100. Upgrading to the K-bike however is like nothing I've ever ridden before. I found a well taken care of 2006 with extras for not much more than you friend paid. Don't be surprised if you...
I think you may have taken this comment the wrong way.
People on here tend to keep group ride routes private in fear that the police might be waiting for them along the route. I'm not sure if that is a fair concern but I do recall a group of mini coopers getting pulled over last year which...
Thanks for the suggestions. Glad I'll be able to walk into a store and buy a power adapter saving on shipping. Plus seems like a good excuse for a ride to Stoney Creek.
$14 bucks seems like a great deal until I found out the above website estimated $70 for shipping... no thanks... I do need one of these adaptors though anyone else have a source? I heard that John Deer uses the same plug. Anyone know if that's true?
I agree the entire trip is for the Wawa stretch of road. You are riding above the tree line looking out ove the lake then down some sweeping turns cut throught the rocks. Its just great and well worth a couple of u-turns.
I've done it. There is certainly some sense of accomplishment riding around the lake and crossing it off a "list" of rides you might have however the ride gets boring on the American side of the lake. I'd suggest riding to Thunder Bay and either circling back and perhaps heading back via hwy11...
