I'd start looking to buy a new set very soon. Personally rode down to the cords also, twice. Nothing happened but you are taking a chance on the tire carcass failing on you.
Most of the time, I listen to music. Still can hear everything around me. Just the other day, a cop pulls beside me at a traffic light and honks. WTF! I'm thinking. She rolls her window down and says something but couldn't make it out. Open my visor and I heard her, 'your blinkers are on'...
There are no duties on motorcycle importation. I know cuz I imported my brand new bike last year.
Just go change your tire and don't tell when you return.
You were just there for a ride.
Easy to install. Bought mine from Bayside (Vancouver, BC). Just have to install the balast inside engine bay or side fairings and plug in the correct wiring harness. Don't know about those on kijiji. Get a good quality one. Bayside has good ones. Mine lasted 5 years.
I need 14 mm & 22 mm HEX driver/allen wrench for wheel removal for my Kawi Concours.
Anyone have a set that I can borrow?
Or suggest a shop where I can buy them?
Crappy tire doesn't have them.
Thanks.
Standard practice for all dealers. Goes by the 'book' which dictates jobs in Units. So if your 1st service was oil/filter/check all nuts and bolts kind of thing, then they have # time units they can charge. It may take a skilled technician 30 min. but they will charge what the book says. All...
Just picked up '12 Concourse from North Carolina for $5000 less than Canadian retail. So comfortable. Rode 1000 km a day through the Tail of Dragon and back. No probs 1000 km/day. Sportcycles of Rockingham (google it) has nice used ones too. PM me if you want details on importing but the...
Just came back from Deals Gap and those are some nice roads to ride.
My favorite has to be Colorado.
Route 34 from Estes Park to Granby.
Route 82 from Aspen to Twin Lakes,
Route 103 from Idaho Springs to Mt. Evans peak!
Hwy 1 from San Fran to San Simeon is breathtaking also but not in the same...
Just imported a 2012 kawasaki concours. I read through the whole 50 pages of this thread. I did everything required. I flew to North Carolina, pick up the bike and rode it back the long way through the Tail of the Dragon. Fantastic!
Couple of points that I learned ( and many have already...
It is illegal and will cost you a ticket if you are unlucky. Sometimes it is convenient to park on side walk, have done it several times out of necessity but made sure it is not in anyone's way. So far no ticket. One time, a parking cop walked by and not even looked twice.
10000km on my bike, 2000 km on rental Honda in California, 1800 km on rental BMW in Arizona = 13800 km. I hope ride more next season. Planning trip to the Alps for the twisties!! Woot!
