    GP bikes service department

Have no issues buying things from them, but I will never take my bike back in for servicing. My 20K service, which included a valve check, was a mess. Some of the highlights included a mirror/grip assembly that was not put back in its original spot; missing screws from my crash bar (which they...

Road conditions - Northern Roads 2016

Some north north updates: - Hwy 129 between Thessalon and Hwy 556 junction is in good shape. Some sand at the junction, but everywhere else is good. - Hwy 556 between Searchmont and SSM is in good shape. - Ranger Lake Road (Hwy 556) was recently graded. Mostly in good shape, with some areas of...

Old Nipissing Road - Dual Sport/Adventure/Touring Ride - Saturday, May 9th

The Nipissing Rd website indicates the following about the route north of Magnetewan: "For the next 2 km the Nipissing Road is impassable, except by foot or bike. Plans are underway to have this part of the road returned to a condition to allow for hiking or Mountain Bikes. If driving, take the...

Old Nipissing Road - Dual Sport/Adventure/Touring Ride - Saturday, May 9th

I liked the Conti Trail Attacks when I had them a few years ago, and the TA 2s are supposed to be even better. The TKC-70s are another option if you're looking for something more aggressive. I was torn between the Anakees and TKC-70s, but in the end went for the one that was better suited for...

Old Nipissing Road - Dual Sport/Adventure/Touring Ride - Saturday, May 9th

@Shane, yeah, that Killboy thread is where I pulled the pic from. Whenever I'm bored at work I head over there to check the latest fails. What tires are you running on your Wee right now? I just got Anakee 3s put on and think they should be more than suitable for the type of roads that would...

Old Nipissing Road - Dual Sport/Adventure/Touring Ride - Saturday, May 9th

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the date, but the route looks great when I had a quick look online. Would appreciate it if you share a post-ride recap and "lost" stories as I'd love to do this later in the season. Have fun!

Is Heritage motors with Daniel still around?

If you give Pete's a call they'll be able to tell you the names of the shops they regularly ship to in the GTA. Last time I called they mentioned Daniel was now working out of a shop in the east end, but I don't remember the details.

    Noob maintenance Q

No need to spend the money on an OEM filter - many car filters will fit the Triumphs. Here's a great reference for compatible filters. I personally use the Mobil M1-108 and the Purolator Pure One PL14612 on my Tiger.

1st Lake Superior tour - Toronto to Sault St Marie - difference between HWY and Ferry

Given you have 10 days to enjoy the trip, is there any particular reason you need to make it to the Soo in one day? You can always end your first day at Massey and stay there, or camp at Chutes Provincial Park. This makes it less of a boring highway slog to SSM, and best part is, the next...

    Condo Garage Cleaning....

Many condo corps wash twice a year. It's amazing how much crud accumulates in six months. Anyway, the last time my parking garage got washed I was on a business trip, so couldn't move the bike. I knew the wash was coming up, so I put a bike cover and left it. It's small enough that they can...
