Well, I replaced mine last year and this issue is back again! The person who mentioned that kicking the stand back after the bike starts is a temp fix.. This used to work for me as well, and then that stopped working.. As for the Stator / Rectifier problem.. I had both of the issues... Replaced...

It's too late now but I highly suggest picking up one of these from Canadian Tire. I had the issue of removing the filters as well..but with this thing it's done in 30 sec. Definitely worth the $20 investment for all future oil changes...

When i used to work there I parked which ever lot was empty.. I mean I had a Parking card with me but I never had to use it.. The wooden parking board is way too short and never reached across.. So I just rode right passed it everyday...I'm not sure if they changed that thou. This was a year back..
