    Bmw f800r

Thinking about an F800R as a possible replacement for my Versys. I've read a lot of good things, but what I'm wondering, and can't seem to find, is a comparison of maintenance cost to a Jap bike. I tend to do most minor repairs / maintenance on my bike now, but was told that BMW's are not the...

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Looks high end of reasonable compared to other vintage bike, but regardless, I just keep on pulling this one up to look at: http://london.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-sport-bikes-1981-Honda-CB-750-F-SUPERSPORT-W0QQAdIdZ558055323 Very pretty

    Hit air motorcycle jacket

I've had this one for the past 2 seasons http://www.hit-air.ca/jacket_motorrad.html . No accidental inflation despite forgetting about the tether many times. It offers the same protection as most other jackets via the armour, but has the added protection of the airbag. The material of this one...

    Anyone using Plasti-dip????

Maybe a dumb question, but do you need the register the colour change if using plastidip? Anyone know what percent of your bike can be changed without registering it? Thinking of doing all my plastics black but leaving my tank red (versys, so not a lot of plastic).

GS Owners eat your heart out

Wow, I'm amazed that there was a time when people took Harley's out of their garage for long enough to trek like that.

    who's still riding? (in toronto)

Stator is dying on my bike, but still riding around town, keeping revs up to charge, and carry a portable plug in jumper in my cases while I'm waiting for the parts to come in. this is actually some of my favourite riding weather. Love being able to get geared up without sweating like an Ontario...

Fuel economy :Supersport vs entry level bikes going at 100kmph

What about same bike, different speeds, same RPM's? cruising at 100 km in 6th, i rev about 4500. Drop to 80 km in 5th, I'm at about 4500. Which will get me better fuel economy? Covering more ground at 100, but more drag as well.

trade a ninja for a versys?

Completely agree about off road, although the last owner used mine a lot for off road (much more experienced rider than me). I have Happy Trails cases and Barkbusters, which are both great protection for tip overs. The panniers have hit the ground more than a few times and, apart from a few...

A friend got the '14 street glide special. "Do Not Ride" recall - Clutches bad and could completely fail apparently. Yay HD!

trade a ninja for a versys?

Good for you! I'm on an '07 Versys and love it. No issues in almost 70000 km, and if you add luggage, it becomes useful; not just fun. The fact that it is top heavy takes a bit of getting used to, but that balance lets it fall into curves and corners making it a really fun bike to ride.

    Diavel

I've got no use for it either. Just sayin'...It's now on my "if I had loads of dough and a big stable" list.

    Diavel

I've seen it in the showroom and liked it, but I just saw my first one on the street and, gotta tell y'all, I'm a dude, and I think I'm pregnant. That is one sexy bike.

    Good riding roads?

I've got a roundabout about 45 km into my 60 km commute, plus a right turn, a left turn, and then another right turn. That's London and surrounding area for you. I can let you know my route if you want to appreciate the GTA a little more.

2004 Kawasaki Z750 with 94,000 km? How much more can it go?

I think it's unfortunate that high km bikes are so hard to get rid of. My understanding is that bike engines (especially the brands known for reliability) will go as long or longer than car engines with proper maintenance. I think the issue is that we don't tend to ride year round, and a lot of...

    Gear Help?

I find that the trouble with knee pads of that you have to land on your knees for them to work. Check out bohn armour. I've been thinking about getting some for under my drayko jeans.

    Who loves their bike?

I'm riding around today fully farkled versys doing my errands as I so often do. Stop at stop sign and a nice street triple comes though from the other direction. Off I go admiring the triumph, but I get to thinking how much I love my bike. I can't think of another bike that would better suit my...

where can I get a good deal on a new vstrom

First of all, if you want a versys, get a versys. Storm is only marginally better for off road ( not a huge strength for either bike), but the versys beats it in every other way. If you don't mind the drive, Niagara race crafters deserves your business. Good for you for not giving money to...

    Shorts under Mesh?

Any potential issues with wearing just shorts under mesh? Riding London to Honey Harbour via forks of credit on thurs (humidex topping 40) and am trying to figure out gear. Also have Drayko jeans, but I think the mesh would be cooler and offer more protection. Thanks in advance
