Hazard: People with soccer flags on their cars

Rode from London to Richmond Hill on back roads yesterday to see my dad. From Bradford to his house I was cut off / had to avoid at least 3 drivers with soccer flags on their cars. Another 2 on the way home plus a 1980's camry (but i usually expect to be cut off by old toyotas). Nice of these...

    My daily rides are over

I find that I don't have a lot of time to ride for fun (not that there's a lot of fun to be had out London way), but I do have to go to work everyday. That's why I commute on my bike. Straight lines are a little more tolerable to me on a bike. I've also got enough luggage that I can stop for...

PSA - big rigs and blind spots

All mirrors are useless if the driver doesn't use them. That seems to be the trend.

Highway Entrances + Tar Snakes + Middle Of Lane

I wouldn't be too worried about middle of the lane. It's more of a concern where cars are stopped (red lights, heavy traffic areas) then where they are unlikely to be stopped (freeways, ramps, rural roads). Shiny and black, take another track. Keep your eyes open and ride accordingly.

What work did you do on your bike today?

Thanks, First ride on my new PR4's. Felt really sticky, but are new, and street cleaners haven't been through yet, so...Yay gear!

What work did you do on your bike today?

Replaced what I broke when I lowsided this morning. New tires and dirty roads really don't mix!

Recommended helmets for a "long oval" headshape...

I wear an Arai Profile I got about 1.5 years ago on clearance. It was discontinued and replaced by the Signet Q, so if there are any around, they'll be very cheap. I had a shark which wasn't too bad, but I could feel pressure on my forehead which got annoying after a while. Profile is awesome.

    M Test Soon;) Advice?????

Make sure you are blatantly in the correct tire track. I got dinged for being too close to centre even though it was quite clear I was moving there to avoid tar snakes (i pointed at them as a road hazard). I did not, however, get dinged for keeping up with traffic on the hwy (doing 120 km/h) and...

    Clearcoat

You might just need to let the clear warm up a little more then. The nice thing is that if you mess up, you can just sand it off again.

    Clearcoat

Don't think that's necessary as long as you haven't sanded through the clear to the basecoat. Looks like you were using a buffer, not a polisher. A buffer just makes wax shiny, where a polisher with good compound actually melts the clear a bit to make the clear shiny. You have to be careful...

    TD Insurance (Bike Only)

Switched everything over to TD last year. Between bikes, cars, and properties I save about $2000/year. Someone backed into my bike last year and they were fine to deal with. No complaints.

    Random Kijiji Seller

Kjiji people, to me, reflects the rest of the population: While you will interact with a lot of fantastic and honest people, there are still a lot of idiots messing it up for the rest of us. I try very hard not to give my money to d-bags.

Hello! Advise needed and riding friends!

I was just hoping for some advise on where I could find these bikes (Ninja 650r, SV650)? I mean Kijiji and auto trader barely even have one matching the category. Like this? http://london.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-sport-bikes-2008-Kawasaki-Ninja-650r-W0QQAdIdZ574336631 Might make...

Suggestions for an "around town" boot?

Last weekend I scored a pair of Puma Bonneville Gore tex boots for $50 at Inglis Cycle in London. This is my first pair of Puma's, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. Can't wait to give them a try!

    Cross-border shopping - Gear in Niagara/Buffalo?

I tend to just shop online and have things shipped to hotel or shipping depot. Going to pick up a set PR4's that were $310 shipped. even after exchange, it's still $100 less than anything I could find locally.

    Bmw f800r

Partly "because I might want something different", but also wouldn't mind ABS. Yes, I think that any bike with a decent windscreen would provide better wind protection than a naked FZ9. I also like the idea of having the windscreen for cold / wet, but being able to take it off when I want to and...

    Bmw f800r

Thanks folks. My reasons for asking about this one over others is that A) Not interested in a new bike B) Don't like full fairing bikes as much C)Need something that has capability for full touring luggage and a windscreen D)Don't want to get into a litre bike E) Would like ABS. I like the new...
