    Crossing The Border

Re: Crossing The Boarder I always shut off my bike and take my helmet off. If the person looks friendly I'll start a light hearted conversation about the weather other wise I'll say nothing. I have found that if I cross the border multiple times a year I am treated with less suspicion. I have...

Why would you by pass 120? It was one of my favourite roads going through Renovo and Hyner view.

    Your favourite biker quote/saying!

You guys all forgot the most obvious and ubiquitous motorcycle quote: "It's not the destination that's important, it's the journey."

    Tail of the dragon video

Never been and have no interest in going. If you want to push it that hard go to the track. I plan on hitting the area in the future but will purposely by-pass the Dragon.

    Your favorite weekend/long weekend trips

Hey Rotten Ronnnie: Are you the one that hit a dear on the 404 while travelling with a group of other riders on the 404 a few years ago?

    Your favorite weekend/long weekend trips

I say this with great humility as I realize you have much more travel experience than me Rotten Ronnie, but I feel that the only trip listed that qualifies as a comfortable weekend trip is the one to Renovo. The others require 3 or 4 days to take in for maximum enjoyment.

    Renovo Pa Facts

Just did a quick check of a couple of West Virgina towns I went through last year (same size as Renovo), and both are better off economically. These towns are Parsons and Marlinton. I think Renovo ranks right up there with any poor town in WV.

    Renovo Pa Facts

I realized that this town had a depressed economy when I rode there for the first time last summer, but I just discovered some facts on line about this town that surprised me. Census taken in 2009: Population: 1202 (8% decline since 2000) Median age: 39.5 Median household Income: $20,277...

Touring, Which one SV650 vs GSX650F?

No matter how comfortable your bike is, your body will eventually cramp up from staying in one position. Therefore, I suggest you keep your bike and install some high way pegs. This should be easy on any bike with an exposed engine. It's the only way I'm able to travel on my Bandit for over 12...

    Final Thoughts Of 2011

Did four trips into the states this summer. The Bandit ran perfectly, and most importantly I returned home in one piece. I'll never forget some thing another member wrote on this forum a couple of years ago, "a good ride is one from which I return home alive." So I'd have to say that any body...

200,000 km on my bike on the weekend!

You should inform Suzuki about this milestone. Some guys worry when their bikes hit 60,000 km.

You guys should try EB's titanium underwear. They're a steal at only $200 a pair.

    Transcontinental ride (July 1, 2011)

My Bandit has 63,00 kms and like yours it has proved very reliable. I'm curious about the work you've had to do on your bike considering it has 130,000 km. Have you had to replace your alternator, starter, or other electrical issues?

    Transcontinental ride (July 1, 2011)

Thanks for sharing Vlad. I read it all and really enjoyed it. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do a similar trip some day.

    Ever lost interest in riding?

Like others here have already said, I too have lost my passion for riding on local roads. I just find it boring. I basically live for my multi-day trips to the U.S. Unlike many others, I don't go south to peel my chicken strips. I go for the experience of meeting new people and seeing new places.

Getting Back On The Ride, After Injury

Is this a hypothetical question, or did you have a spill? You Ok? I've only had one minor low side in my 20 years of riding, but I did lose my best friend way back in 79, due to a bike accident. It was a truck pulling a left hander in front of him. I was spooked and quit riding for one year. He...

Anyone headed to Renovo Oct 20/21or22?

Last time I was on 872 I passed a dam that was devoid of water. It was a puzzle to me. Is that the dam that broke?

Heads up I-90 and 219 travellers

Hoss Steakhouse is where I had my meal paid for by benevolent strangers back in June on my return from WV. I found it strange how they take your order before you're even seated. And yes I agree it is very cheap to eat there. I also stayed in Dubois overnight. I used the Best Western. It was...
