Metz Z8 vs. BT-016s vs. PR2 vs. Shinko Raven 009

Have you got those tires mounted to a moped? If Pilot 2's last that long, they would be cheaper to run the the Shinko Raven 009's I'm currently running, as my Shinko's are only giving me 13,000 km on my B12. '

Ride Report - Suzi visits Quebec

I have a 14 lb. Shitsu that I would love to take with me on my trips. But my wife would kill me because it's technically her dog.

    Looking for a tough motorcycle

Buy a Bandit. It isn't perfect, but it's cheap to buy, cheap to insure and incredibly reliable.

    WV Long Weekend

I admire your sense of adventure Beastie Girl. I haven't traveled nearly as much as you, but I too have caught the bug. In fact I do very little local riding. I no longer enjoy it. To me riding is all about the adventure. Seeing new places and meeting new people. I have no aspirations for a...

Just curious. Do you usually travel alone like myself? Or do you have like minded friends?

    Toronto to Front Royal, VA

I did this trip in June. I left Aurora at 6:00 a.m. and got to Front Royal at 6:00 pm. Two things slowed me down: 219 and short stops every 90 minutes. 219 is brutally slow through PA. I did the BRP from Front Royal to Roanoke and it took me about 7 hours. I learned from my trip that you...

Are you saying that 72 is unpaved?

    West Virginia run

I was checking out Google Maps (set to satellite view as I often do) and I noticed a couple of roads that look gorgeous going through high elevations and following a serpentine river for many miles. I'm talking about 32 north of Harmon WV (off 33) connecting with 72 which continues in a north...

    Algonquin Fall Ride

Are you guys prepared for thirty people to show up unannounced? Actually I take that back, the early 9:00 am start should discourage a large number and that may be a good thing. Booya, your generosity truly impresses me. If you have a wife that is equally willing to house strangers over...

    What's the Most Comfortable Sportbike?

Hey Canadian Biker, you're an old geezer. Just kidding, I was also born in 1959. Correction, we're both old geezers.

    West Virginia run

I've been to WV twice this summer but haven't begun to tap into the endless array of roads the state has to offer. Having said that, I can suggest some must see routes that are sure to please you. -220 South from Cumberland Maryland to Franklin WV (beautiful mountainous twisties the whole way)...

    Lake Placid

Btw, I did a short loop into Vermont crossing over at Chimney Point on the free ferry. Here are my observations: 17 going up the Appalachian Gap was beautiful but the condition of the road was shameful. It had buckled immensely right in the middle of the lane, and I don't think this happened...

    Lake Placid

Just got home from the Adirondacks after 4 days. While the days were nice. The mornings had temps barely above freezing that didn't warm up above 10c until after lunch time. Just something to keep in mind. Early morning starts are painful this time of year in the mountains.

    Lake Placid

I am in Lake Placid as I type this. I am using the Crowne Plaza's computer room. I am burning some time on the computer as I wait for the temps to warm up. It is Friday morning at 10:30 am and the temperature is 40 f. It is supposed to reach 55f today, and 62f tomorrow so its all good. I...

    Thank you West Virginia!

I'm sure I would love the Cabot Trial - one day when I find the time. I can only comment about scenery with regards to the places I have visited on a bike. If I want scenery I would rather go the Adirondacks, it's closer the mountains are higher and the wow factor is there. However, WV beckons...

    Thank you West Virginia!

I agree about US 311 between Roanoke V and White Sulphur Springs WV. I found it to be the nicest road I encountered in either WV or Virginia. We're talking up and down mountains, banked corners, switchbacks, and nice scenery.
