    Shoei to Arai

Bingo! Nothing any manufacturer can do about that. Ventilation = holes in the shell. Also, note that the "race" helmets (vs "street" helmets) are meant to be in the tuck position to maximize aerodynamics and ventilation so your bike/riding position might have something to do with noise.

    Shoei to Arai

This is true of the Signet-Q or previous Profile model. The rest in the current lineup are Intermediate Oval which is supposed to be more neutral/round, including the Corsair. For round heads like mine the discontinued Quantum-2, Round Oval shape was a perfect fit.

how often do you change your face shield?

Never heard of an expiry date or useful life on visors. With proper care and cleaning there's no reason why a visor can't last many years before becoming too scratched or damaged. My 5 year old dark tint visor is near perfect still. Some iridium/mirror visors will show scratches quicker because...

Bike Parking Roy Thomson Hall Toronto

Try it (and report back) or just go up Simcoe by Elephant & Castle. Plenty of bikes parked there all the time.

    knee and shin guards

Picked up a set of these new old stock. Made for mountain biking but CE rated. Less bulky than the Knee V. Shin part fits nicely with Torques.

    Shoei to Arai

Agree with your last point. Im the opposite, round head and Arai fits best while Shoei feels tight on the sides. This is generally across the line. The right fit is most important, brand and graphics lower priority for me.

best place for new car tires. looking for a good deal

tirerack.com and discounttiredirect.com both ship to canada and collect the duties/taxes (via UPS). hate to say this but even after shipping duties/taxes still some pretty significant savings over buying locally or Cdn online.

Sport Touring Tire Showdown - Poll

15,000km so far. plenty of tread left, guesstimate rear 30-40% and front 60-70% remaining. I find the BT023's warm up quickly (faster than the previous BT016's on my bike) and are plenty grippy on the streets. Never ridden in rain with these tires so can't comment.

Currently running BT023s and another rear is on order. Bridgestone is my rubber of choice on the bike and car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTif-Bw0uj4

Got a "new to me" Ducati Monster

If you have the dp ecu installed then that should help smooth things out. Termi kit for current gen monster includes ecu and air filter. +3 teeth on rear sprocket makes a huge difference.

Motorcycle specific backpack... Anyone have a recommendation?

Kriega is the way to go if you're doing long trips with a full load. Straps adjusted correctly you won't even feel it on you back while riding.

Motorcycle Roads in Muskoka, Parry Sound, Loring-Restoule Area

Kenisis is smooth and twisty. Only drawback is there are no paved routes out (that I could find) so you have to double back to the main road. Watts has some nice elevation changes and tight twists but the west side of the loop is blown out and sandy. The other half of the fresh pavement and...

    Benefits of CAA Premier

Wow, thats great service. You guys have me thinking I need to upgrade my membership from Plus to Premier. I'm often riding more that 200km away from home so the up tick to 320km (albeit 1 tow only) and $600 trip interruption could come in handy ~ next trip I'm upgrading. I've been a paying...
