    Ballistic Batteries

I've got a Ballistic in my V-Strom, went up one size from the "stock" size I'd need for my bike as per many people's recommendations. Perhaps that is key, though it's mostly suggested for people who ride in colder weather I believe. Mine has been working great, and I've had it for about two...

    Tire pump suggestions

I picked up a 12V "Justin Case" tire pumps from Canadian Tire, here is the link to the product. Listed for $29.99, which is I believe what I paid last year for it. Despite it having some poor reviews, I find the product works great. Previously I was using one of those "Slime" brand inflators...

how angry would it make you if other rider passed you in your own lane?

It's bad enough that cagers do that to us (I've had a few incidents with people deliberately forcing me out of my lane as well)... You would think fellow riders would understand and refrain from the same kind of behaviour, but some people are just idiots. That said, I've had both cagers and...

Scarborough and Toronto Huge Group Ride!!! Everyone Welcome

As mentioned, these kinds of group rides can get out of hand very quickly. Particularly if you're a newer rider and/or not very experienced in group riding, I would suggest looking into group riding etiquette, hand signals etc... though really, I would say start out with a small group of KNOWN...

    Overtaking at an Intersection

Looks like the rider (passenger? whoever it was in "front" of the car by the camera's view) went into seizure/convulsions shortly after impact... made my stomach turn... On the one hand I want to yell at the people who seem to just be standing around gawking (and the driver of the car who...

Looking for review: Drift Ghost-S (or Ghost) as a vlogging cam

Hey folks, I'm looking for anybody locally who has had some experience with the new Drift Innovations Ghost-S helmet cam. Specifically, I'm looking for your input on real-world audio/video quality and battery life, particularly for vlogging purposes -- bonus if you've used it in rain/poor...

    "Wow"

I saw that group too, some of them were constantly revving the crap out of their bikes for absolutely no reason. I don't like to criticize how others ride... However, it'd be nice to not have cops hunting the rest of us down because a few twits got their attention and happened to be in the same...

    Cleaning your chain.

Same as most above, I use kerosene and either the Grunge Brush, or the Tirox cleaning brush + some shop towels to wipe off the excess crap. Then spray on some DuPont Chain Saver and good to go. Remember to also check & adjust your chain slack! A lot of folks (myself included) don't do this...

    Tires installed while you wait?

Another option would be Jason or Steve at 22 Customs. They're over at 31 Beverly Hills Dr, near Jane & Wilson. Been dealing with them for a few years now and they're great guys. You can pretty much watch them do all the work as long as they're not too busy -- pick up some "Ride Rich" merch...

    riders in the Vaughan/woodbridge/maple area?

I'm in Scarborough, but if you want to meet other riders in the area, you should stop by La Paloma by Hwy 7 & Weston. Usually during riding season there's a Monday Dessert meet/ride, and La Paloma is one of the more frequented locations. Also, there are a few nice roads just south of Vaughan...

Kingston Rd between Warden & Vic.Park

Hey folks, Anyone who hasn't already come across it, try to avoid Kingston Rd between approximately Warden Ave and Victoria Park Ave. The whole area is in horrible shape, down to one lane in either direction, and also construction in the area to boot. Gravel/sand in some spots can make it a...

    Contour/GoPro and wind noise

When I'm vlogging (which hasn't been frequently unfortunately) I attach an external mic to my GoPro 2, which has a standard 3.5mm mic-in jack... (The 1st- and 3rd-gen GoPros don't have this, the 3rd-gen has some stupid USB adapter you need I believe...) I wound up using a $10 "Genius" brand...

    Niagara Falls/area en-route? (Apr 2014)

Hey folks, Might be doing a day-trip to the Niagara Falls area this Monday, just curious if anybody has been there over the last few weeks and can report on road conditions, either at Niagara itself or along any of the major routes to get there. Been a few times I've come across some heavy...

    Alarms

I will say the remote's range can be a bit finicky, yes. That said, I've tested it by having a friend mess with the bike while I was inside a major mall, and at a considerable distance the remote actually responded. Same goes for in my apartment building. I live 14 floors up, and generally...
