I generally get about 380-400km per tank doing highway speeds, 22L tank on a VFR800. That drops pretty quickly if you're moving fast. I put 21.8L in after going 320km, pinned at 140-145km/h for several hours in Utah.

If you're ever planning on crossing the plains, get a throttle lock. Go Cruise saved me from some serious carpel tunnel.

When i'm on the road, I use WD-40 for cleaning my chain. Spray on to wet, agitate with a small paint brush (cut the bristles short so they're more stiff), spray to rinse and wipe off with a scott towel. Apply chain lube afterwards. It's quick and effective for when you're doing high mileage days.

It's not that bad actually. There's a few spots around highway 6 that are plastered in salt, but for the most part the highway is clean. It was -6 on the way to work this morning so my hands froze up pretty well, but I had no issues otherwise. I'm expecting about the same on the way home.

Amazing weekend. This is what 700km of salt and road crap looks like on a VFR :P

Decided to ride west this summer, to Vancouver if not Victoria or Tofino. Solo trip, at least 14 days. I'll probably stay in Canada on the way there, and the US on the way back. I expect to camp most of the way, but I play it by ear. The rest is up in the air for the moment!

I tooled around the back roads from Cambridge to Loretto, hitting Guelph, Belfountain and Hockley on the way. About 420km in total, a great day!
