To be fair, when you consider the other roads in the immediate vicinity, it's much more entertaining. If you're passing through the area you may as well hit the forks, but don't expect to go through quickly. Relax, and enjoy some time spent off your crowns.

You could wipe or spray your gear with diluted eucalyptus oil. It's an anti-fungal agent and helps to prevent ringworm. I don't imagine it having any negative effect on leather or textile since it's a neutral oil but you'd probably want to test a small discreet area before applying it...

VFR800 has optional ABS and is easy on insurance. No power settings or TCS, but the bike doesn't need them either. It might get a little squirrely if you're trying to drag a knee in the rain, but losing traction is probably the least of your worries if you're riding like that for a commute.

PO installed the fender eliminator kit so I don't have the OEM fender or plate bracket. I have since relocated my plate to the horizontal givi bracket and the next challenge is figuring out where to run the wire to illuminate it in a manner that wont see it get ripped apart by road debris.
