I'm closing in on 120k on my '03, and just finished a 9000km tour of the east coast. To date I've had to replace a clutch, cam chain lifters, stator and regulator/rectifier. Valves have never been looked at, but I might take a peek this winter.
I like to say the VFR is a "gentleman's sport...
I'm riding out to the east coast on the 9th, but I don't want to slab it through ontario/quebec. I haven't explored much of the Ottawa valley so I figured this is the perfect time to do so. I'll start in North Bay but from there anything goes as long as it's generally eastward. Hit me with...
Honestly just head west and you can't go wrong. Talk to the locals, there are a ton of bike enthusiasts who will eagerly tell you which routes to go.
I scratched up a rough 19 hour route that I partially did last year (I didn't loop, I continued south and west out of New Denver. The roads from...
I form up in a stagger a few bike lengths back or until I can see their face in their mirror. Just for sake of visibility. Never had anyone take issue with it either, although I have abandoned the position a number of times because the rider didn't seem aware that I was there which always...
I hit southwood today and it's a bloody disaster. I don't know where all the sand came from, but it's everywhere. The top quarter (where it intersects 169) and the area roughly in the middle where there are more rocks than trees are the only relatively clear spots.
Not to derail this derailment, but I'm derailing this derailment.
CBR1000RR on Southwood Rd; hope you got your engine light sorted out. Shame about all the sand too.
Stopped by after work. A good number of folks showed up, many nice bikes to gawk at. Could be a regular stop for me on Tuesday evenings, especially if they keep feeding me.
These are some amazing roads if you find yourself in the south end.
I took this route when I was there last summer. I had no idea what I was doing, but local riders steered me this way. It was amazing and intense and I loved every moment that I wasn't ******** myself.
I'm posting this now because I was asked about it. I did this trip right around this time in 2013.
I took 16 days and rode from Milton to Seattle and back. On the way there I went through Canada: North over Lake Superior, west into Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, took the south pass...
It's an '03 VFR. I got her in November 2011 with 26k on the odometer. I remember every scratch, and lament every lost fairing bolt.
It's made of plastic, so it ought to. The HUD looks like it came out of the early 90s.
