    saved over $300

My insurance expires in early May. The renewal would have been $1010 with Echelon ( Riders Plus )...only slightly more than last year. Got a quote from Cornerstone $ 890...also a quote from TD $ 696, but since they renew in Feb I only have to pay $578 to renew from May to Feb. So pay $ 578 or $...

    Motorcycle accessories in the USA?

Cyclegear.com many locations...not as big as Royal but they do have some cheap gear. Not top of the line stuff but then again neither is Royal. I stopped at a few locations on my way to Barber last summer, not sure about Dual Sport stuff..wasn't looking for any at the time.

    Parker brothers close shop

Re: Parker Bros. - done I can remember taking trips down to the city and checking out McBride, Cycle World and Parker Bros. It was fabulous to be able to see all the bikes and check out gear in stock in your size and favourite colour. Parker Bros were usually the best for price and...

    Elka 3 way adjustable shock

John is a pro! He did my BMW F800ST forks a couple of years ago, I wanted to change springs and install emulators. Bike only had about 8,000 Km but John discovered some worn parts inside. John overhauled the forks, replaced the worn parts, modified and installed the emulators with springs...

Anyone else headed to California Superbike school this year?

I love this school and try to do one day a year if possible. Few years ago I did level 1 at Sears Point Infinion (friend lives nearby) and after that Level 2 at Willow. Not bad going to California in March. Since it had been a while I retook Level 2 last summer at Barber...fabulous track and...

    Thinking about a motorcycle lift.

Yes thanks BNKN...I didn't think that the op needed a 8,000 lb lift that can put a car 7ft off the ground...plus for the price he could buy 4 bike lifts...then again I don't need an air compressor...just 110 for the hydraulics. Will have to put the bike on it next spring just for the...

    Thinking about a motorcycle lift.

I don't know about the bike lifts but after shopping around last fall I did purchase a 4 post car lift from DirectLift and was very happy with the product and the service. They are at the next bike show in March..maybe you can get a deal?

    Your Opinion: Super 8 Lodging

I stay in Hotel/motels quite a bit for work/travel and find it always varies from location to location. In Ontario I have not been happy with Super 8 and usually pay a little more for a Comfort Inn which have almost always been to my liking. Clean, no smoke in room and a decent spread at breky...

Ladie's 5'4 and under and an SS

If anybody is interested in lowering their bike..you should talk to John Sharrard at the bike show this weekend. I believe he will be at the Elka shock booth and he is an excellent suspension guy. Not affiliated in any way but he has done some great work on my bike. He has a BMW GS 1200 on his...

    Fox shock rebuild

John Sharrard will be at the Jan bike show, might be worth stopping by if you haven't done anything yet. This guy knows his stuff! He modified my front forks ( BMW F800ST ) and then replaced the rear shock with a Elka...transforms the bike!

I have...I can't...still tryin to figure out how to afford one. Too many other toys at the moment. Getting back to OP we don't need more than basic food and water but I still want a nice steak and glass of wine! Don't need Tv, movies the intern......

    BMW owners movement!

Sounds like you are not going to be getting much for your bike. Have you considered selling it as is...might find someone willing to do the repairs themselves... that way they could take their time to source the parts. On a friends F800S the dealer wanted $1100 + labour for the parts to repair...
