Spent 4 days in the area with my buddy. It is half the distance to the dragon. Make a base camp in Marietta. You can ride for 6 hrs to Wheeling & spend the next 4 hrs or longer in the twistys. The roads are unbelievable. Just as good as the dragon area. Is tons of twistys and hills. You have to...
Like Moggs said. You can get fog and cold. We were in San Fran and rode to coast and was foggy and damp. Either way you ride will be nice.
There are many nice roads to hit just off the PC Hwy so take the time to look at the area's.
Ultimate seats are worth every penny - even more - I used for 3 years on first bike - What an ***** Saver. I do a lot of long distance riding & that is where you can tell the difference in different seats. ( I took the Less route and bought a Mustang for second bike - What a mistake )
As for...
If u stay in Emporium at the Buttonwood Motel - They have a restaurant built right in and you can bring your own booze in the restaurant and drink with your dinner. Food is excellent and cheap.
Later August is Ok for Colorado - and 21 days is more then enough time. ( It will all depend on how much you can ride each day)
We did the West Coast around the first or second week of Sept and the weather was fine.
The 2 area's just north of Parkersburg - Waynes Forest and on the other side of the 77 is another forest area with tons and tons of
roads. I usually stay in Marrietta and ride each day from there. I will heading there again sometime this year. Was way to much fun.
I see from your map u are coming up or down through Moab - You have to go into the Arches National Park - (you will kick yourself if you don't)
You will be on the road so it is not out of the way.
Then you were heading up to the Hwy - What u do is from the Arches head south just before town on...
No Fries - Was still raining 90% of the way home from Detroit - Only made one stop at tims for a coffee and change my gloves.
Needed to get out of rain for a bit and warm up.
In Illinois was around 70 during the day - both days - Was a bit chilly at night but we had warm stuff so was Ok.
We took the shorter route home and hit rain in Detroit but other then that was great all 3 days.

We were hungry to get a long ride in and this was it to start the season. My riding partner and I set out
from Downtown TO and had to actually start ride in Buffalo. There is routes set up that have to be...
you can look at Econoglobe - I pay 55 a year - covers everything - I am allowed 14 days away in U S. I have to come back to Canada for 24 hours and then can go back to States. You can make as many trips in a year as you like.
If you plan on 2 up - Then look at bigger. I started with the 2010 - 900 LT - then a 2012 v Star 1300
The 900 was way to slow on Hwy. The 1300 was just enough for the 2 of us, especially when on the Hwy.
Maybe take a look at the C90T - They are also a good ride.
I have now traded in the 1300 to...
