Riding a taller bike as a short person actually requires a little bit of skill. You do not need to put both feet down. As long as you can scoot over and get 1 foot down.
My bike stock is 36" seat height... I lowered it to 35". I have a 31-32" in-seem. No problems! ;)
I generally put my left...
Engine is hot and the oil is up in the engine and crankcase... Let the bike come down in temp and see where the oil is. With the bike "warm" the oil should be in the middle of the sight glass usually.
Kelly's Cycle in Hamilton sells the Motul stuff... I bought it for $11.99 IIRC.
I'm pretty sure GP Bikes has it as well.

From what I have read, the Scottoiler is incredibly reliable, not sure how much I would be worried about it going haywire.
The idea of the auto-oiler is pretty good... I just think the ROI is kinda low.
$300+++ buy's a lot of chain lube... and even a couple replacement chain/sprockets.
Mike...
Had an FZ-09, concur with your assessment.
I think it's a combination of the Geometry, Rough Fueling (aleast the version I had) and the suspension. Ridden GSXR1000, 1190's, 1290's etc and the FZ-09 was a LOT more unpredictable.
I can easily foresee a new rider wheeling the FZ-09 right into the...

Okay we can both wallow together... I really want the 1190.
He said money is no concern, so that's not technically a negative for him....... ;)
Also there was a 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure with 500KM for 17K + tax... definitely doable.
Okay OP... Since everybody has harped on you for getting a bigger bike yada yada... I will give you a realistic option (if you have the money)
Ignore all the suggestions in this thread (except mine of course)
Stay in the orange family!!! KTM 1190 Adventure
Positives:
* It has 150HP... it...
+1 on this... My bike without luggage feels really "flighty" on the highway... Packed with 60-70 pounds it becomes much much more comfortable.
KTM Duke 390 - 340 wet weight
Yamaha R3 - 368 wet weight
Ninja 300 - 385 wet weight
Alright Top Gun, not everybody asked you why only a 650! ;)
Have not rode a Versys, but it looks pretty cool. Wouldn't mind test riding one.
I've had people ask me why I got a 690... Thinking I should have gotten a bigger/faster bike. :lmao:
I think the 690 can be more scary than a litre...
Re: $5100 - 2010 650 Vstrom with 62k km on it
Joe I'm sure I could fit some knobbies on your bike....... ;)
No idea on the back. I can and will eat an entire DQ ice cream cake......
Well flying over the handlebars is one way to fail the M1 exit... (atleast you did it with style) Will RTI allow you to re-take the test? or give a discount on another course?
and don't sweat it, **** happens in life. Being able to actually post about it is pretty big of you. As long as you...
All good comments, but just a minor correction.... If he turns to scrambled eggs on a wall it WILL affect us. Our insurance will go up. Maybe not this one incident, but it factors into the insurance equation as a whole.
Okay Okay, I know I sound absolutely brutal... We DO care about his safety...
