If your oil level is on the low side, top it up, but not to the full line (since you mention the oil coming from the breather hose).
Does your bike burn oil at all (I wouldn't expect it).
In my opinion, this is how I think you should think about it:
- oil light comes on when pressure sensor...
When you take a corner that requires deceleration, do you downshift before or after you complete your corner?
Some would argue engine braking is hard on the clutch or driveline, but only if you can't match the revs. If you can match the revs properly it is no different than letting off the...
I am not looking for gruesome details or to lay blame on anyone involved, but are there any details? I just think that if possible, we as a community should try to learn from the mistakes and misfortunes from others to try and make motorcycling safer for everyone.
Hey Gummie, I think it is debatable. I almost feel like we're splitting hairs here, because I think you have a good point. However, I personally like starting with the outside line for a couple reasons:
1) it sometimes gives a better sightline as to what is around the bend
2) as I am turning in...
Great advice. Since I ride a v-twin I let the engine do most of the braking. If I feel I am going in too hot, I still haven't used the brakes so I have that safety margin going for me.
That "style" of riding has saved my *** numerous times. Also, I am not a fan of pushing my limit on the...
The left handed corner is deceiving and it has a crest. I got surprised on that corner a couple days ago.
In general, the DVP, and some of the on ramps are deceptive and can be very easy to cause an accident. There are many off-camber corners and turns with crests that can unsettle a vehicle...
Hi. Bear in mind, this isn't "my kind" of bike, but I hope something I say will be of value to you.
Custom Exhaust: how loud? Some jurisdictions are enacting noise bylaws. Does it include the stock exhaust? If no stock exhaust, I wouldn't think it adds too much value. Loud exhausts don't save...
Sometimes I go to the coin operated car washes and just don't use the pressure washers.
I have a particular affinity for the ones with massive "NO MOTORCYCLES" signs.
It's like shooting fish in a barrel. Why go out hunting when you can just go to the watering hole.
I remember there was once a kid or two who would show up to brag how they don't have a license or insurance or.....
I'm not surprised to hear about a police presence there.
When I lived in the area, we used it as a meet spot before going for a ride.
Show up, pick up a coffee while waiting for everyone to show up, then leave.
Sometimes car guys show up too.
Also, sometimes girls show up with their own helmets.
I have the Givi set up on my SV. I know it's not exactly the same as what you are asking, but a gentleman at work has the Givi rack on his DL650. In terms of configuration, they look just about identical. The only difference I note is the mounting on the passenger pegs as I think the SV and DL...
Ontario Cycle Salvage (if it still exists) is where I got replacement throttle cables for my old CB550 when I needed them. Just bring your old cable with you to make sure you get the exact same thing. When I went, I picked the cables out of a huge bin haha.
The sheath is the harder plastic that goes around the cabling. The cable itself should move in and out with little resistance. I don't think WD-40 is the best, according to my owners manual, the throttle cable can be lubricated with oil. You can always pop into your local dealer and I am sure...
ughh, your buddy's buddy is a hack; makes me sick....
clean your carburaters and take it from there. that should improve things.
cables need to be lubricated. replace them if you can't get the cable running smoothly within the sheath.
but wait... i thought it was the cop's fault?
I'm glad they caught him. I wonder if the media will stick with the coverage so we can find out what happens next.
