I may be biased, but Triumph Sprint ST 1050 is often overlooked. It’s smooth, powerful relatively comfortable and has handles great. As another bonus, it’s British!
Sweet idea. I’ve been thinking about getting one serious ride before the season ends. Would seriously consider tagging along with you Ken, but I must complete laminate floor over the weekend or will have to sleep on the couch.
Looking forward to the review of the trip as I am interested to do it...
Thermal liner is removable. “Magical” word used to describe how well it works. Not familiar with materials you mentioned. I’m sure they are even more magical. Just letting mimico_polak know what my experience is with the Rev’it option.
I recommend Rev’it Everest GTX.
I wore it in -6 weather and it kept me warm even on the highway with its magical warmth layer. It has 100% waterproof shell. Tested. It has SAS tech armor that molds to your body. With vents open it’s good even during the warmer days. It’ll last for years. Top...
Had them on my old 599. Worked good. My hands still got cold in -6 weather on 400 series highway though. If combined with heated gloves it would have been great.
I’m surprised there are no more of this great bike!
Pnosko and I had a coffee meet last Saturday. It was the biggest gathering of Triumph Sprint ST 1050s in Toronto. There were 2 of us!
I got a couple of things done since I got my bike in January. 18t sprocket, Givi topcase, tail tidy...
Nice! I miss that bike! Hope new owner enjoys it!
LOL, Tuono (Twin or V4) is an amazing machine. In terms of performance it's in a different planet compared to a little 599... doesn't it have nearly 50 horsepower more? 599 is a budget, no frills unstoppable all rounder.
If money was nota...
I had a 599 for 2 years and I was very happy with it. Been from the very north tip of Nova scotia to Florida Keys on it. It has plenty of power. Really never felt need for more unless I was riding 2 up and lazy to downshift on a highway.
It’s the same engine as in CBR600F (the carbureted...
Honda CB600F (aka. Honda Hornet, aka Honda 599)
As a new rider (35 year old, M2 licence, living in Etobicoke) I was with Jevco and this is what I paid:
1st year: $910
2nd year: $554
Basic insurance. This is great rate for a bike like 599. Nearly 100 horsepower and 400 pound weight this thing...
In September I went for an East Coast tour (5000 km) and I’ve used my RF-1100. This spring I did a trip to Florida (6500 km) and use my Scorpion EXO-700.
Both fit my head great, but I prefer Scorpion as it is quieter. I see absolutely no signs of Shoei having better build quality either.
