I'll take commuting on my bike over a car or public transportation any day. If I know there is a high chance of rain, I bring a rain suit.

I went to Champion Cycle a few weeks ago. Cheaper than some places I found, but more expensive then others. Cost me $100 for a VFR800. They were super fast, friendly and did a great job. No scratches on the rim either. Don't know if they prices change depending on the bike. I would imagine they do..

They don't need to. They can use their eyes to see the emergency vehicles and their flashing lights. If they are not within eyesight just yet, they can hopefully use their brains to figure out why all of the cars around them are stopping and pulling over to the side.

Lanikai beach is a must. Rent a surf board or kayak and paddle out to the little islands a few hundred meters off shore. Do a shark cage dive in the north shore. Costs about $100 and well worth the money for the experience. Not many people get the opportunity to see sharks, let alone up close...

I've been to Oahu twice. Outside on Honolulu I've barely encountered any traffic. 99% of the tourists don't leave waikiki beach area.

If you look at similar posts online where people are asking about 250 kawi's or Honda's, the only "negative" has to do with the power output of a 250 engine. You won't see complaints regarding reliability, parts availability, engines dying etc... That says something right there.

Shouldn't cost $600. It's $300ish for a new OEM fairing. Labor is probably 20 minutes. Assuming you have no idea what you're doing, you could probably do it yourself in under an hour.

Re: The INJURIES I survived while riding a bike I once did a 6 hour ride on my old 250 ninja. I'm 6'2". My knees and my butt were really sore after. No scars thankfully. ;)

I actually kind of think that is very be plausible. It's covered so they take it off to see what's underneath, find that it's a 250 and don't bother taking it. Just not worth enough to for thieves to bother with them. Parts are too cheap to make the trouble of parting it out worthwhile and there...
