I've read some good things about the HIT air vests & I've seen a few guys at TMP this year wearing them.
I'm considering buying one for next year, I maybe one of the slower riders out there on the track but my 52 year old bones dont bend anymore, they just break & I'm all for anything that can...
I was starting from scratch this year after not even sitting on a bike for 10 years & never having been on a track before & I agree with all the above, get a 1 piece suit, you wont regret it & there are used ones out there on Kijiji etc if you are "normal" size.
I'm a biggish lad at 6' 2" & in...
Well I went to TMP yesterday for the last track day of the year & had lots of fun & track time.
Big news is the Porta Potties were GONE & the washrooms were fully open - at long last.
Yep, me & my freind both complained about the state of the porta potties on Saturday as they hadnt been emptied & were almost overflowing - disgusting.
I can handle porta potties no problem but for f--k's sake TMP at least keep em emptied & clean.
I was going to head down there this coming...
Yep they ran it, maybe 15 of us there max & we personally only did 3 sessions as my mate who I travelled down with wasnt feeling 100%.
It was very cold, the riders meeting was held in the back of our trailer & the wind was so strong one of the bikes actuallly blew over off its rear stand.
Heres...
I'm 6'2", 240lbs ish & a little bigger round the middle area than most.
Size 60 Alpinestars SP-1 bought from Sport Bike Track Gear when I was down in Michigan on business earlier this year, seems to fit me well enough.
Yep, still on PortaPotties last time I went there Aug 29th but at least they'd been emptied :-)
TMP has LOTS they need to look at & fix such as the toilets & pricing & having a rain policy etc etc BUT it is the closest track to me (1hr 20mins max for me to get there) & this is my 1st season on...
Wow, reading the above I must have the heaviest track bike out there, 1991 ZX7 with Squidskins bodywork weighs in the 440lbs region with a bit of fuel in the tank - official dry weight is 424lbs.
I'm with Brian, try Squidskins, see if he has the moulds for your bike.
I've never fitted race bodywork (or any bodywork) before but found Jame's stuff easy to fit with the deprssions for the mounting holes where they needed to be.
I crashed out at GBM on the 24th Aug & James messaged me the...
I was one of those who dumped their bikes.
Made the ultimate stupid rookie mistake - touched the front brake when I shoudnt have done & down I went - wont do that again lol
I'm fine, bit of a sore knee & bike needs a new LH side foot peg hanger & a bit of duct tape on the bodywork till I can get...
Thank you gents.
For starters I'll try Kyle's method with safety wiring from the camera to the screen fasteners, but I do also like both the mirror mount & the tank mount methods.
Done a quick search through the forum search & found plenty of reviews on the various cameras but really couldnt find anything about how best to mount the camera to the bike for forward facing use.
Just wondering how everyone else does this on their track bikes - where they mount it, what...
