detonation counter helps you advance the timing as much as you can and will also pick up detonation from being too lean. Honda's typically ran better richer. But you advance the timing to increase performance.Too much and you blow up. so you count the number of detonations per lap. Too many is...
Thank you for the kind words,, appreciated! I am sorry if I missed some stuff. I tried to read all the thread. The Diablo Can-Am 125GP series and the SV650 series showed what can be done with the right help. I started the 125GP class just to help all the 125 GP riders have better races...
I did have a Diablo Can-Am 125GP race at Shuby. The CMA tried to take credit. It was somewhat helped by NAMU.. North America Motorcycle Union. I had 36 riders and my sponsors put up a $6000 purse or more. The representative from the CMA, was drunk on Wednesday when I got there. He argued with me...
The Ultimate was not brought into North America last year. Any that were available were from 2016. The Evo was available. Not sure if the Ultimate will be available this year, maybe talk to Kennedy Motorsports to see if they can get the Ultimate this year.
The Pirelli is still old school tire...
Just an FYI on tires. On any new tire, what you knew and did is pretty much old school now. The best wear and best life of any of the new generation tires is done with good tire set up. There are no real corner cutting methods any more. You need serious heat and heat that is placed properly. The...
The Canadian Rider Safety Fund is a non profit organization where 100% of all donations go back to the CRSF for bags. We have a 4 member board who are all volunteers. We have sent bags to Nova Scotia,Edmonton,St Eustache and Grand Bend. We are currently working with a small track in Quebec to...
You guys planning on going up Sunday,, expect delays. VRRA weekend has a large entry and they don't exit very fast. And many will stay until Monday. So plan for the worst. And they may not even let you access the paddock until traffic is reduced.
Thanks everyone for the kind words.
But the WSBK 300 class has the rules to even everything out, The 500 carries something like 20 Kilograms. Not saying this is what CSBK might do. But allowing everything as does WSBK makes sense. Part two is figuring how to make them all fair. Watching the 300...
This is very interesting. 37 years ago we crashed and went to the hospital. The suits were mint in most cases,, our bodies took the beating. Now I see guys wade it up at 120 KPH and complain they need to get the suit fixed so they can ride tomorrow. Pretty interesting. If you buy an off the rack...
Last I heard McCormick had bikes motors and gear,, needed money for tuners and weekend costs. So at that time it was not happening for lack of funding.
T Rev is back on a new weapon. Reidmann figured some stuff out at Shuby. Edie is getting more figured and Young is do! So knowing how Mosport...
Yes but you typically have longer sessions. This allows you to make a change and get an instant comparison. Rather then waiting for the next session. I think this is what helps so many regional guys drop lap times when they do a National. Regionals are fun and you should still do them to try...
Been there done that. SV is not current anymore. IT's a regional based class/idea. Not a Canadian Superbike class. Moto America has four classes. CSBK has four plus the Kawi class. It usually adds two regional support classes. Several times this year the schedule got long. So as numbers rise and...
True , but keep SOAR in perspective. many of those riders are pretty much inside the SOAR box and have not been anywhere else. So if they assume they are not competitive or are concerned about going to another venue you will get light numbers because of the unknowns. I do know all the riders...
Would never happen unless you get 36 + riders and some names. It's an entry level series. Good entertainment but TSN would not air it and the dollars to do it Kawi would never pay for it. Look at the numbers! Look how long they dragged their butts to make an announcement. If the people promoting...
Okay maybe they have great numbers but how in any way is that related to CSBK or RACE or SOAR,ARL,EMRA? It's a completely different world. So they have the biggest grids but put less back into the current economy then any other series. The tire vendor does more flips then new sales. Sponsors...
Thinking next year we do as Moto America, 10 feet per rider and by points from the start of pit out. Not 10 x20 or 10 x15 but 10x10. That's all you get,,no matter who or how big your rig is, or how many rigs you have. I liked it when we were down there. pretty fair and simple.
