The "Augusta" thing is really irritating... Top Gear, of all places, should do a bit better. I don't expect North Americans to get it right as much.
And I'd love to see a better-financed MV. Hopefully this happens and AMG is willing to put some investment into it.
Anyone know if AMG purchasing...
Park with some care there. I was talking to a guy who had his R1 nabbed from that street a few years ago. But as far as I could tell, it looked reasonably safe from theft in the daytime. And beware the no-standing sections!
Saw a photo of this accident, I believe, on CP24. Looked reaaal bad (Kawasaki 650r pre-2008 in black and red if I made the remains of the bike out right). Glad to hear it's not life threatening.
GWS
After watching that video... All that braking going on in lanes before the accident would be a warning to me to leave space and definitely not get close enough to the car in front of me that I couldn't see the brake lights a car or two ahead.
Looks like the rider was very fortunate not to be...
hedo2002: Sorry to hear about your accident. Though the injuries sound relatively minor compared to one involving a car, it is a bit extra sad to hear that another motorcyclist was so unskilled as to do that.
And I've been with TDMM before as well, had to make claims, and the service was...
Late to get to this but glad to hear (directly and indirectly) from two of three riders in the two accidents. GWS all around.
And that SB HOV is awful. I rode it every warm weekday for about two years and it was pretty much an every-other-day close call experience. My worst near-miss happened...
I have an X1R1 Carbon as well, love it. My favorite helmet of the three in my rotation by far. Very comfortable and light. Good visibility. Only problem is that little snap doesn't seem to hold very well for me so carrying it around by the strap, with only the snap holding the strap to the other...
Re: Kahuna closing?
I heard from one of Kahuna's employees that MV wasn't moving a lot of units and they dropped the line a few months ago if not almost a year ago. IIRC a new GTA dealer picked up MV this year as well so the part about retaining MV sounds wrong to me anyways.
C'mon, 7up. It may not have been a great idea but clearly Faisal isn't so cynical as to think just saying a 2011 ZX-6R is at a location makes that location a prime target for a break-in... A bit excessive to guilt him over that. It isn't hard to find out where a supersport-or-better is located...
Not sure why everyone is hating on the sale apparently sight unseen. 50% off regular MSRP is generally pretty good. And if I could get away with rocking Triumph apparel on my Jap bike, I would have spent a ton on the 70% off Triumph stuff.
Instead I bought a Scorpion exo-500 for $100 to replace...
Thanks. I see. I guess it's more of a motorcycle clearance than it is an accessories clearance, if they're likely keeping Ride open without the new bikes. Weather permitting, I guess I might try to check them out tomorrow.
Re: Kahuna closing?
I fear the same: I will get there and everything will be a season old and marked down 25% from original MSRP. I don't know how much excess inventory they could really have if they already have everything at Ride and Ride isn't closing shop.
The lack of specifics in the...
Re: Kahuna going out of business?
Got the email from them as well, will try to stop in tomorrow to see how the sale is and report back in this thread.
Me needs a new daily riding helmet. Mine has been tattooed by highway debris.
Called Allstate @ 939 Eglinton Ave. E and the person answering said immediately they don't insure bikes over 300 or 350cc (can't recall).
Called Dan (as per OP) and he said can't cover unless I am bringing a home with it, tenant's insurance doesn't count.
